CILEGON BANTEN (ISL News) – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Banten together with the Regional Management Board of the Indonesian Stevedoring Companies Association (DPW APBMI) Banten Province officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the planned cooperation in loading and unloading activities at Ciwandan Port on Friday (31/7/2026) in Cilegon.
The collaborative agreement was signed directly by the General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Benny Ariadi, and the Chairman of the Banten Regional Board of Indonesian Port Association (APBMI), Alawi Mahmud. This Memorandum of Understanding serves as an initial guideline for both parties to collaborate in exploring the implementation of loading and unloading activities to and from vessels at Ciwandan Port.
The MoU agenda was also witnessed by the Chairman of the Banten Ports Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tubagus Masduki, the Chairman of the BPD of the Indonesian National Importers Association (GINSI) Banten, Habibudin, and the Management of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten.
This port collaboration initiative is organized based on the principles of complementarity and mutual benefit between the two parties. Furthermore, the MoU is built on the principles of equality and fairness in business, while adhering to business principles firmly grounded in good corporate governance.
General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Benny Ariadi, said that this initiative is a progressive step in aligning the potential of companies and associations.
"This collaboration with APBMI Banten is a form of collaboration to optimize loading and unloading activities at Ciwandan Port by optimizing the use of resources from Pelindo Banten. We hope that through this joint study and discussion, we can create synergy that aligns with laws and regulations and can generate sustainable benefits for both parties," said Benny Ariadi.
As a follow-up to the one-year Memorandum of Understanding, Pelindo and APBMI Banten will prepare a technical cooperation agreement. This follow-up agreement will involve APBMI member companies in the Banten region, which will undergo an assessment and selection process by both parties in accordance with Pelindo's needs and standard procedures.
Through this synergy, both parties hope to improve the efficiency and smoothness of port operations, thereby leading to strengthening national logistics competitiveness in the Banten region.
