BANDAR LAMPUNG INDONESIA (ISL News) - Container flow at Panjang Container Terminal shows a positive trend until May 2026. PT IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) recorded throughput growth of 7.40 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

From January to May 2026, container volume was recorded at 50,287 TEUs, an increase from 46,824 TEUs in the same period in 2025. This increase reflects the increasing logistics and trade activities served through Panjang Container Terminal.

Senior Manager of IPC TPK Corporate Secretariat, Daniel Setiawan, said that this achievement shows that the flow of goods continues to grow along with the increasing distribution and trade needs in the Lampung region and its surroundings.

"The throughput growth in the Panjang Area, which is above the national average for IPC TPK growth, demonstrates the terminal's strategic role in supporting the smooth flow of logistics and trade in the Lampung region. We will continue to maintain service reliability to ensure that service users' needs are optimally met," he said.

The increase in throughput was primarily supported by export growth of several leading commodities. Tapioca starch recorded a 267.37 percent growth, followed by frozen shrimp at 28.90 percent, pineapple at 22.93 percent, and refined glycerin at 21.90 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

Furthermore, domestic and international container flows also showed positive growth. As of May 2026, domestic throughput reached 28,163 TEUs, a 10.04 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, international throughput reached 22,124 TEUs, a 4.21 percent increase year-on-year.

Data from the Lampung Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS) also shows a positive trade trend. In April 2026, Lampung Province's export value reached US$504.59 million, a 43.29 percent increase compared to April 2025. Meanwhile, import value was recorded at US$172.40 million, a 51.56 percent increase year-on-year. This growth in trade activity also drove increased logistics flows and container movements served through the Panjang Container Terminal.

The Panjang Area's positive performance also supported the growth of IPC TPK container traffic nationally. As of May 2026, IPC TPK recorded a throughput of 1.49 million TEUs, a 6.1 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year. With a growth of 7.4 percent, the Panjang Area became the area with the second-highest growth within the IPC TPK environment until May 2026.

As the primary container terminal in Lampung Province, IPC TPK Panjang continues to strengthen its operational services by enhancing coordination with various stakeholders, from shipping companies to service users. This step is taken to maintain service stability amidst increasing logistics and trade activity.

With this positive trend, IPC TPK Panjang further strengthens its role as a strategic logistics gateway, supporting the smooth flow of domestic and international trade in Lampung Province.
