JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) - Koja Container Terminal or TPK Koja has successfully recorded positive operational and financial performance until the end of November 2024. This achievement shows a significant growth trend compared to the previous year, while also proving TPK Koja's ability to optimize operations amidst tight competition in the logistics industry.
Until November 2024, the volume of containers handled by TPK Koja reached 941,793 TEUs. This figure shows that operational performance has exceeded the Work Plan and Budget (RKA) target of 863,696 TEUs, or grew by 9.04%. Compared to the same period last year which recorded 882,259 TEUs, there was an increase of 6.75%.
Projections until the end of the year show a throughput figure of 1,018,060 TEUs, which is 7.2% higher than the annual target of 949,050 TEUs. This figure also reflects a 5.5% increase compared to the 2023 realization of 966,100 TEUs. If the target is achieved, this will be the second time that TPK Koja has recorded a throughput above 1 million TEUs since 2017.
TPK Koja General Manager, Ali Mulyono explained that this achievement was supported by harmony between stakeholders, customers, management, and employees.
"Various strategic steps have been taken, including rejuvenation of the reach stacker, repair of the pier to welcome the arrival of three new QCC units, rejuvenation of the RTG, addition of head trucks, and arrangement of traffic patterns in the stacking area," said Ali Mulyono in his statement, Monday (16/12/2024).
Income Increases
In line with throughput growth, TPK Koja also recorded a significant increase in financial performance. Until November 2024, net income reached IDR 1.65 trillion, an increase of 10.84% from the target of IDR 1.48 trillion. This figure is also 8.86% higher than the income in the same period last year of IDR 1.51 trillion.
Not only that, TPK Koja's operating profit has jumped by 109.19% compared to last year. Until November 2024, TPK Koja posted an operating profit of Rp366.3 billion, far exceeding the target of Rp203 billion and last year's realization of Rp175.1 billion.
Furthermore, it was conveyed that several strategic plans in 2025 had been prepared in an effort to maintain the positive performance of TPK Koja.
"We will bring in three new QCC units of super post panamax type which will replace two old QCCs of panamax type, four eRTGs, and six new head trucks. This step aims to improve the quality of service to customers," said GM TPK Koja.
In addition, he continued, TPK Koja will continue to implement digitalization and systematization of container services, rejuvenation of environmentally friendly loading and unloading equipment, and programs to improve the quality of occupational safety and health (K3). The TJSL (Social and Environmental Responsibility) program will also be strengthened to provide a positive impact on stakeholders.
