SURABAYA (ISL News) - Teluk Lamong Terminal (TTL) is conducting an evaluation and technical verification of the Corporate Performance Rating Assessment Program in Environmental Management (PROPER) for the 2025–2026 period with the Evaluation Team of the Ministry of Environment / Environmental Control Agency (KLH/BPLH).
The evaluation and verification activities carried out in early September 2026 included a comprehensive examination of four main aspects, namely Water Pollution Control, Air Pollution Control, Hazardous and Toxic Waste Management (B3), and Domestic Waste Management in the TTL area.
This PROPER verification also demonstrates TTL's consistency as a Green and Smart Port pioneer in Indonesia, which continuously implements various environmentally friendly innovations to support the achievement of the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target in the port sector.
The Director of Operations of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, Muhammad Syukur, emphasized that TTL's participation in PROPER is not merely the fulfillment of administrative obligations, but a concrete manifestation of management's commitment to implementing sustainability-oriented environmental management standards.
"For TTL management, environmental management and port operations must go hand in hand. We demonstrate this commitment by providing reliable environmental infrastructure, from wastewater treatment facilities to the use of electricity-based operational equipment (eco-power) to significantly reduce carbon emissions," said Syukur.
In the verification activity, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong as a whole has fully met the level of environmental regulatory compliance, which is demonstrated through digital management of B3 waste through Festronik, operation of Domestic IPAL infrastructure with flowmeter facilities, and management of officially licensed Non-B3 waste TPS.
The reliability of Green Port's supporting infrastructure is also supported by the success of the domestic waste reduction program, which reached 71.86% through a paperless office digitalization system and independent composting, as well as the implementation of consistent periodic monitoring at 11 seawater quality points and 7 ambient air quality points and noise around the terminal and residential areas. All of these field technical verification results confirm that PT Terminal Teluk Lamong is on the right track to achieve the Blue PROPER predicate target in the 2025–2026 assessment period.
Meanwhile, Teguh Irawan, Head of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry's Verification Team, expressed his highest appreciation for the efforts and transparency of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong's management throughout the evaluation process. "We greatly appreciate the collaboration and openness of TTL management. We are optimistic that the implementation of environmental management in the TTL area will yield maximum results and reflect a high level of compliance with regulations, further strengthening the effectiveness of environmental management in the future," Teguh said.
Through the implementation of strict environmental management standards and the sustainability of the Green Port concept, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong continues to strengthen its role as an environmentally friendly port. This initiative demonstrates the company's concrete contribution to providing added value to stakeholders while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient port ecosystem for sustainable operations.
