BANTEN (ISL News) – Ciwandan Port continues to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth supply of raw materials to the national food industry through its wheat loading and unloading services. Pelindo Regional 2 Banten demonstrates this support through the readiness of port facilities and services capable of handling large volumes of dry bulk commodities.
One proof of the reliability of the service is shown through the successful handling of the MV INCE EVRENYE ship which docked at Pier 05C Ciwandan Port from April 30 to May 7, 2026. In this activity, Ciwandan Port successfully served the loading and unloading of bulk wheat amounting to 73,700 Metric Tons (MT).
Furthermore, throughout 2025, Ciwandan Port handled a total of 935,568 MT of wheat. From January to July 2026, the volume of wheat handled reached 665,098 MT. This achievement demonstrates the confidence of service users in the operational reliability of Ciwandan Port.
Through its service portfolio, Pelindo Regional 2 Banten continues to support the smooth distribution of various strategic commodities needed by the national industry. Bulk wheat handling is one of the company's contributions to supporting the availability of raw materials for the food processing industry to meet community needs.
Acting General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Achmad Yoga Suryadarma, said that this positive operational performance reflects the readiness of infrastructure and the competence of human resources at Ciwandan Port in handling large-scale dry bulk commodities effectively, safely, and on time.
"Our ability to handle large volumes of wheat cargo demonstrates the capacity and operational reliability of Ciwandan Port in supporting the logistics needs of the national industry. This is certainly due to the strong synergy with all stakeholders involved in port operations," said Achmad Yoga Suryadarma.
Wheat unloaded through Ciwandan Port is then distributed as raw material for the food processing industry. Smooth handling of this commodity is part of efforts to maintain a sustainable supply chain from the port to the industrial sector.
To support loading and unloading activities, Ciwandan Port is equipped with adequate dock facilities, operational equipment such as grab cranes, wheel loaders, and an integrated weighing system. All operations are carried out with Occupational Safety and Health (K3) standards in mind to ensure safe and smooth service processes.
Achmad Yoga added that this achievement was the result of collaboration between Pelindo Regional 2 Banten and service users, shipping companies, stevedoring operators, and all stakeholders involved in ship and cargo services at Ciwandan Port.
