JAKARTA (ISL News) — New Priok Container 1 or PCT1 management confirmed a fire incident involving several Dangerous Goods (DG) container units in one of the terminal areas.
However, NPCT1 handled the incident in accordance with applicable safety, security, and emergency response procedures. As part of its efforts to expedite handling and control of the situation, NPCT1 also deployed fire trucks to assist with extinguishing the fire and ensure conditions in the affected area were safely under control.
According to Christine Margaretha Manasseh - Corporate Planning Manager NPCT1, the relevant team is currently continuing to monitor and handle the situation at the location, prioritizing personnel safety, facility security, and preventing potential further impacts.
"NPCT1 is also conducting an investigation to determine the chronology, conditions, and cause of the incident. All information and facts related to the incident will be verified first to ensure the information presented to the public is accurate and accountable," said Christine Margaretha Manasseh.
He stated that further information will be provided after the handling and fact-checking process is complete. "NPCT1 is committed to continuously prioritizing safety, security, and operational excellence in all terminal operations," he added.
