SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting community welfare through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. As part of this commitment, TPS collaborated with the Baksose Suroboyo Community in a social activity held at the Balongpesapen People's Tourism, Sumur Welut Village, Lakarsantri District, on Sunday (12/7/2026). In this activity, TPS provided support for the DOKAR (Dodolan Koyok Pasar) Program which aims to help the community obtain healthy and nutritious food at very affordable prices.
Lakarsantri District was chosen as the location for the activity because it is an area still in need of social and economic support for some of its residents. Through its support for the DOKAR Program, TPS hopes to provide direct benefits to residents by providing access to affordable, nutritious food while also helping to ease the burden on household expenses.
The DOKAR program, run by the Baksose Suroboyo Community and supported by TPS, provides 200 nutritious food packages to the community. Each package contains a variety of fresh vegetables and nutritious food ingredients worth approximately Rp20,000, which residents can purchase for just Rp2,000. This program is designed to facilitate community access to food while also helping improve family nutrition.
Public enthusiasm was evident from the moment the DOKAR stall opened at 7:00 a.m. WIB. The 200 food packages provided were sold out by 9:00 a.m. WIB. The high level of community participation demonstrates the critical need for a program to provide healthy and nutritious food at affordable prices and has received a positive response from the local community.
In addition to the DOKAR Program, the Baksose Suroboyo Community also presents various other social activities that can be enjoyed by the community. These activities include the Sego Rongewu Program, which sells boxed meals at a price of Rp2,000 per portion, free haircuts, free health checks, group exercise with various prizes for participants, the distribution of Al-Qur'an copies, and donations to orphans. All of these activities are part of the Baksose Suroboyo Program series which aims to provide broad social benefits to the community.
This activity received a positive response from local residents. They appreciated the DOKAR program, which they believed helped meet family food needs while reducing household expenses. The program's implementation involved various parties, including the Lakarsantri District Government, Sumur Welut Village, neighborhood association (RT/RW) administrators, social communities, and volunteers, who worked together to ensure the entire program ran smoothly and on target.
TPS Corporate Secretary, Erika Asih Palupi, emphasized that support for the DOKAR Program is one of the implementations of TPS's TJSL social pillars which focuses on improving the quality of life of the community.
"TPS is committed to remaining present in the community through programs that provide tangible benefits. Through our support for the DOKAR Program, run in collaboration with the Baksose Suroboyo Community, we hope to help meet families' food needs while strengthening synergies between companies, communities, the government, and the public. We believe that effective collaboration can create sustainable positive impacts," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Lakarsantri Sub-district, Iin Trisnoningsih, expressed her appreciation for the support of the TPS and the concern of all parties involved in organizing the social activities in her area.
"We would like to express our gratitude to PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya for its support and contribution to the Lakarsantri District community. This program has significantly assisted residents in meeting their daily food needs at affordable prices. We hope this collaboration can continue and provide broader benefits to the community," he said.
The DOKAR program in Lakarsantri is a continuation of a similar activity previously held in Pakal District on June 21, 2026. During this activity, TPS also provided support for the implementation of the DOKAR Program by the Baksose Suroboyo Community, which provided 200 nutritious food packages for the community at a price of Rp2,000 per package. The program received appreciation from the community and the Pakal District Government because it was considered to help meet daily food needs and support improving the welfare of residents.
By supporting various social programs that directly impact the community, TPS hopes to continue expanding social benefits while strengthening collaboration between companies, government, communities, and citizens. In line with its commitment to social, economic, and environmental sustainability, TPS will continue to contribute to supporting sustainable development and improving the well-being of the people of Surabaya and its surrounding areas.
