JAKARTA (ISL News) - IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) received a field visit from the National Development Planning Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (Bappenas RI) at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta. This strategic visit was carried out within the framework of Strategic Coordination of Regional Connectivity Development to Increase Added Value in the Western Indonesia Development Region in DKI Jakarta Province.
Taking place in the Integrated Planning & Control integrated control room, this review aims to determine the actual conditions of container loading and unloading operations, identify various challenges and development potential, while also gathering direct input from stakeholders to ensure the preparation of a national logistics policy plan that is on target and meets field needs.
"We welcome and appreciate the visit of the Indonesian Bappenas delegation to the Integrated Planning & Control room at IPC TPK. Through digitalization and real-time system monitoring, IPC TPK remains committed to improving operational efficiency and the reliability of loading and unloading services. This synergy with Bappenas is crucial to ensure that national infrastructure and connectivity planning remains aligned with operational dynamics in the field," said Daniel Setiawan, Senior Manager of Corporate Secretariat.
During the review, the Bappenas team received a comprehensive presentation on the flow of goods, terminal productivity levels, and the integration of digital port systems, which are the backbone of smooth logistics flows in Western Indonesia. Interactive discussions focused on mapping connectivity nodes between sea and land, optimizing terminal capacity, and strategies to reduce national logistics costs. The factually presented operational data serves as crucial evaluation material for Bappenas in formulating a precise mapping of regional development potential.
This field visit provided a platform for productive collaboration between national policymakers and terminal managers, the frontline of the maritime logistics system. A thorough understanding of the actual conditions at Jakarta's container terminals is expected to strengthen the foundation for developing priority government programs to increase the economic added value of Western Indonesia. Solid connectivity network integration is seen as key to boosting national product competitiveness, efficient flow of goods, and equitable economic growth across Indonesia's regions.
