JAKARTA TANJUNG PRIOK (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 strengthened its commitment to supporting the creation of a healthy young generation free from drug abuse through a social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) program at SMA Negeri 13 Jakarta, on Monday (24/8/2026).
This effort was carried out through collaboration with the North Jakarta National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in drug abuse prevention education programs for students. This activity is part of Pelindo's commitment to providing tangible benefits to the communities surrounding the company's operational areas.
Through the BNN program entitled National Anti-Narcotics Agenda Starting from Children (Ananda Bersinar), Pelindo also encourages students to understand the dangers of drug abuse while building character and a healthy educational environment.
Regional Division Head of Human Resources and General Services, Pelindo Regional 2, Mundzyr Salim, said that the student age group is one of the groups that needs attention in efforts to prevent drug abuse.
According to him, adolescence is a period of searching for identity that requires support from the family, school and community environment.
"Adolescence is a time of identity discovery. Therefore, strengthening education and mentoring from school onward is crucial," said Mundzyr.
He added that Pelindo's involvement in the activity was part of the company's social responsibility, particularly in supporting the advancement of education and protecting the younger generation.
"We hope this activity will be beneficial and provide students with the tools they need to determine a better future," he said.
The head of the North Jakarta National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Senior Commissioner Irwan Andi Purnamawan, explained that narcotics are substances that can affect bodily functions and their use is permitted in certain contexts, such as medical and research purposes, with appropriate supervision.
However, drug abuse can cause various problems, both for individuals and the social environment.
"The problem is when narcotics are abused. The impact can ruin a person's life and future," said Irwan.
He stated that prevention efforts are increasingly important because drug abuse remains a serious problem in Indonesia. According to data presented at the event, drug cases are also a dominant cause of inmates being incarcerated.
"Prevention and eradication of drugs is a government concern because of its wide-ranging impact on society," he said.
Irwan also expressed his appreciation for Pelindo's support and collaboration in drug abuse prevention activities. He stated that efforts to build a healthy young generation cannot be carried out by a single institution but require synergy between the government, education sector, state-owned enterprises, and the community.
"The BNN appreciates the collaboration with Pelindo. This kind of collaboration is crucial for strengthening drug prevention efforts in communities and schools," said Irwan.
Through the Ananda Bersinar program, BNN and Pelindo hope that education about the dangers of drugs can continue to be expanded to other educational environments.
Collaboration with the North Jakarta National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is also expected to strengthen students' awareness of self-protection, build a healthy social environment, and prepare for a drug-free future.
