JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) affirmed its commitment to implementing the green port concept as part of the company's operational transformation, which focuses not only on environmental sustainability but also on protecting workers' health and creating sustainable social impacts for the communities surrounding its operational areas.

PTP Nonpetikemas President Director, Indra Hidayat Sani, stated that the transformation towards a green port is not only about protecting the environment, but also ensuring the quality of life and health of workers in the port area.

"Green ports aren't just about protecting the environment, but also about ensuring healthy and safe operations for workers. We view protecting worker health as an integral part of business sustainability," he said.

This commitment is realized through the implementation of an ISO 14001-based environmental management system and PROPER assessment, emission control, energy efficiency, waste management based on the 3R principle, and optimization of more environmentally friendly loading and unloading processes. On the operational side, the company also implements various innovations such as the use of LED lighting, the use of overhead cranes (OHC) to reduce dependence on fossil fuel equipment, and the electrification of loading and unloading equipment as part of the transition to low-emission operations.

To date, PTP Nonpetikemas has implemented various TJSL programs structured around several main pillars, including education, environment, MSME development, and social community. There are 3 programs based on Creating Shared Value (CSV) consisting of PTP Cares for K3 which is implemented in all branches and in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower, competency and professional certification for Daily Workers to strengthen services at the Kijing Terminal, and EduPort as an effort to increase student capacity and create various innovations in the port world.

On the environmental front, the company also participated in planting 11,000 mangrove seedlings as part of its commitment to developing a green port alongside the Pelindo Group ecosystem. Meanwhile, on the social front, the Employee Social Responsibility (ESR) program involved hundreds of employees actively participating in various activities such as educational assistance, distribution of basic necessities and takjil (breaking fast), blood donations, orphanage assistance, and disaster response assistance.

PTP Nonpetikemas believes that business success is not only measured by operational performance, but also by real contributions to worker health, environmental sustainability, and social development of the surrounding community.
