PESAWARAN LAMPUNG (ISL News) - The Class I Tanjung Priok KPLP Base continues to strengthen cross-sector synergy in supporting shipping safety and monitoring marine tourism areas through coordination activities, audiences, and requests for support for the development of maritime surveillance infrastructure in the Pesawaran Regency area, Lampung Province.
The activity was carried out by the Head of the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base, Fourmansyah, SH, MM, MH, together with the Head of Batu Menyan Village, Teluk Pandan District, with the Chairman of the Pesawaran Regency DPRD, Achmad Rico Julian, SH, MH, at the residence of the Chairman of the Pesawaran Regency DPRD on Friday (22/05/2026).
The audience discussed the proposed construction of a Surveillance Post, Security Post, and KPLP Pier of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation in the Ketapang Pier area, Batu Menyan Village, Teluk Pandan District, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province.
The proposed development is motivated by the increasing activity of the community and tourists heading to the Pahawang Island area, which requires strengthening aspects of supervision, security, and shipping safety to support the creation of safe sea transportation and marine tourism activities.
The existence of the KPLP Surveillance Post and Pier is expected to strengthen the implementation of KPLP's duties and functions in monitoring shipping safety, securing water areas, supporting emergency response, and improving services to the public and users of sea transportation services.
Head of the Class I Tanjung Priok PLP Base, Fourmansyah, SH, MM, MH, said:
"The increase in marine tourism activity needs to be balanced with strengthening shipping safety aspects and the presence of state oversight facilities on the ground. We hope that the construction of the KPLP (Regional Maritime Security Agency) Monitoring Post, Security Post, and Pier can be realized to support safety services for maritime users while strengthening oversight in tourist waters."
He added that synergy between the central government, regional governments, and the community is an important factor in providing optimal supervision and protection for shipping and marine tourism activities.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Pesawaran Regency DPRD, Achmad Rico Julian, SH, MH, welcomed the aspirations conveyed and supported inter-agency collaboration in efforts to improve shipping safety and develop safe, orderly, and sustainable marine tourism areas in Lampung Province.
Through this coordination, it is hoped that support for the construction of the KPLP Surveillance Post, Security Post, and Pier can be followed up in stages to strengthen the state's presence in maintaining shipping safety, increasing supervision of water areas, and supporting public services in strategic marine tourism areas.
This activity is part of the commitment of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation through KPLP in realizing the implementation of safe, secure, orderly, and sustainable sea transportation.
