TTL INTEGRATES AI INTO PUBLIC RELATIONS STRATEGY, ENCOURAGES PROACTIVE PUBLIC RELATIONS AND ACCURATE RESPONSES

SURABAYA (ISL News, APRIL 24, 2026) - PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) held Artificial Intelligence training for Public Relations as a strategic step in embracing digital transformation in the port sector. Themed "Create Faster, Communicate Better," the event aims to create a faster, more accurate, and data-driven communications ecosystem.


The two-day training, held from April 22-23, 2026, at PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, was the result of close collaboration with the Indonesian National Shipowners' Association Jakarta Raya (DPC INSA Jaya) and a media analytics technology provider. The program featured expert speakers Mr. Mohamad Erwin and Mr. Frederik HF Abarua, who provided direct technical guidance to participants.


Participants included the Public Relations teams from PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, TPK Lamong, TPK Nilam, and TPK Berlian, as well as members of the Crisis Team. The training focused on equipping public relations professionals with the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the efficiency of public relations development, sentiment monitoring, and social media visual strategies.


In his address, David Pandapotan Sirait, President Director of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, stated that digital transformation is not only about speed, but also about being prepared to read the situation and act early. "Going forward, we cannot be merely reactive. We must be more proactive in anticipating and addressing every potential issue or crisis that arises, supported by the data and technology we have. AI must be able to help us explain complex matters in a simpler and more understandable way, including through powerful visualizations. That way, the messages we convey will not only be fast, but also truly accepted and understood by the public," he said.


This training focuses on integrating AI technology and crisis management into public relations strategies. The material equips participants with precision communication techniques, Port Crisis Response strategies, and the use of AI-based digital applications for communication research. It also covers visual strategies for producing professional public relations photo and video content using AI.


One of the main outputs of this activity was the strengthening of PT TTL's Public Relations Squadron, which instilled the mindset that everyone is a public relations professional, especially frontline personnel like the public relations team itself. The team's operations are supported by SOPs, a structured response flow that ensures official statements can be issued through a single communication portal.


"The AI ​​training for PT Terminal Teluk Lamong's public relations team is a positive step in strengthening communication quality in the digital era. Hopefully, through this training, the public relations team will become more adaptive, innovative, and able to present information more quickly, accurately, and impactfully to the public. This demonstrates TTL's commitment to continuous development and excellence," Erwin concluded.


With this training, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong is committed to maintaining its reputation as a modern port that is transparent, communicative, and able to manage public perception professionally amidst the very fast dynamics of digital information.
