PALEMBANG (ISL News, April 14, 2026) – PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) Palembang Branch continues to strengthen its role in supporting the smooth supply chain of the national fertilizer industry through reliable and integrated loading and unloading services in the South Sumatra region.
Loading and unloading of 4,509 tons of Muriate of Potash (MOP) bag cargo fertilizer has been carried out at the PTP Non-Container Pier, Palembang Branch. The cargo was transported aboard the MV Gold Spring from Cuo Lo Port, Vietnam.
The MV Gold Spring ship began docking on April 14, 2026 and unloading activities are planned to last until April 19, 2026. The unloading process is carried out by the Stevedoring Company (PBM) PT Kharisma Bahari by utilizing available port facilities, including Jib Crane, Hopper, and Grab to support smooth operations.
The MOP fertilizer being unloaded is imported raw material from PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Pusri), which will be used in the production of NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphate, and Potassium) compound fertilizer. This activity is crucial for maintaining the availability of raw materials for the national fertilizer industry and supporting Indonesia's agricultural sector.
Branch Manager of PTP Non-Container Palembang Branch, Ade Affandi, said that his party remains committed to supporting the smooth distribution of logistics, especially strategic commodities such as fertilizer.
PTP Non-container is also implementing digital transformation through PTOS-M, the Pelindo Terminal Operating System Multipurpose. PTOS-M is Pelindo's integrated terminal operating system used to digitally manage various types of cargo, including non-container cargo, covering the entire process from planning and operations to monitoring and reporting, improving the efficiency and standardization of port services in Indonesia.
"We are fully committed to supporting the smooth distribution of fertilizer, a national strategic commodity. Through optimal facilities and operational services, we hope this distribution process can be more efficient and timely, thereby supporting the needs of the fertilizer industry and the agricultural sector in this region," said Ade (April 15, 2026).
