PANJANG INDONESIA (ISL News, April 14, 2026) — PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Panjang recorded positive operational performance in the first quarter of 2026. This was demonstrated by year-on-year (YoY) growth in ship traffic, non-containerized goods, and containers compared to the previous year.
Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang General Manager, Hardianto, said that this achievement was the result of operational optimization efforts and good synergy with all stakeholders.
"Operational performance growth in the first quarter of 2026 showed a positive trend. This achievement is inseparable from operational optimization and ongoing coordination with all stakeholders amidst the dynamics and logistical challenges," said Hardianto.
Based on operational data for March 2026, ship traffic increased by 8.24% from 813 units in March 2025 to 880 units in March 2026.
In addition to ship traffic, non-containerized cargo traffic also showed a similar trend. Non-containerized cargo traffic reached 1,916,916 tons, representing a 2.5% increase compared to 1,870,221 tons in March 2025.
Meanwhile, container traffic also experienced growth of 2.06% from 26,933 TEUs to 27,487 TEUs.
Furthermore, Hardianto added that performance strengthening is not only carried out from an operational perspective, but also through proactive and collaborative marketing strategies with subsidiaries.
"In addition to strengthening operations, we are also encouraging intensive marketing activities through synergies with subsidiaries such as PTP Panjang Branch, IPC TPK Panjang Area and MTI Panjang Area and several subsidiaries within Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang, including conducting direct customer relations activities to capture market potential and increase service user trust," he added.
Hardianto also emphasized that although the current global situation remains challenging, Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang will continue to monitor and adjust port operations to current conditions to maintain smooth logistics flows.
"We recognize that current global dynamics could impact the logistics sector. Nevertheless, Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang remains optimistic and committed to maintaining consistent operational performance in managing the flow of goods at Panjang Port," he concluded.
