JAMBI INDONESIA (ISL News, April 30, 2026)  – Access to clean water remains a challenge in several regions in Indonesia. To address this need, IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) is providing a concrete solution by building a clean water facility for the community in Mengkuang Belayar Hamlet, Talang Duku Village, Taman Rajo District, Muaro Jambi Regency. This initiative is part of the company's commitment to improving the quality of life of the communities surrounding its operational areas.

"Clean water is not just a basic need, but also the foundation for health, quality of life, and social activities. Through this program, we want to ensure that communities have more adequate and sustainable access, while also strengthening IPC TPK's role as part of the solution for the surrounding environment," said Daniel Setiawan, Corporate Secretary of IPC TPK.

Previously, local communities faced limited access to clean water, especially for daily needs. This situation prompted IPC TPK to take an active role through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program, which focuses on meeting the community's basic needs.

Through this program, IPC TPK builds drilled wells complete with supporting facilities to provide a reliable, safe, and sustainable source of clean water. These facilities can be used by the wider community for a variety of needs, from household activities to religious services.

"On behalf of the village government and the hamlet residents, we express our gratitude for this clean water facility. This program is a significant relief for the hamlet's residents, who frequently experience drought. Furthermore, this water is also used to support residents in their religious practices. We hope it will provide long-term benefits to improve the residents' quality of life," said Muslim, the village head of Talang Duku.

Since its inception, the facility has distributed over 125 cubic meters, or the equivalent of 125,000 liters of clean water, within 18 days, with an average distribution of nearly 7,000 liters per day. This amount meets the basic needs of hundreds of residents daily, while also reflecting optimal utilization and a real impact on the community.

This program not only provides infrastructure but is also designed to have a long-term impact through a sustainable approach. IPC TPK also ensures community support in the management and maintenance of the facilities so that their benefits can continue to be optimally felt.

This initiative is also in line with the President's Asta Cita, especially point 2, which emphasizes strengthening national independence through fulfilling basic needs such as water, and is a manifestation of the business world's real contribution in supporting resource resilience from the village level.

In line with the company's commitment to  Environmental, Social, and Governance  (ESG) principles, this program also contributes directly to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially goal 6, namely access to clean water and proper sanitation.

Through this initiative, IPC TPK continues to strive to deliver a CSR program that is not merely symbolic but delivers real and sustainable impact. The company also encourages active community participation in maintaining and utilizing the facilities it has built so that their benefits can be felt in the long term.
