JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, April 10, 2026) – Amidst the heavy flow of public mobility during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) demonstrated its operational resilience. The significant surge in traffic on various routes was not an obstacle, but rather a demonstration that national ferry services can continue to operate smoothly, safely, and under control.
This success aligns with the statement by the Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, who emphasized that all modes of transportation—land, rail, sea, and air—are operating optimally. He confirmed that there were no significant obstacles during either the homecoming or return journeys this year.
This achievement is reinforced by various independent survey results. The ITS survey recorded a Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) of 82.15, categorized as good, a 3.45-point increase compared to the previous year. The KedaiKOPI Institute reported that 88.8 percent of respondents were satisfied with the government's management of the homecoming travel.
Meanwhile, Indikator recorded a satisfaction rate of 85.3 percent among travelers returning home—confirming that national transportation services are operating optimally amid high traffic pressure. The survey revealed that the service IKM for ferry services reached 77.48. This achievement reflects the level of user satisfaction with service aspects during the Eid al-Fitr transportation period.
On the ground, operational dynamics persist, particularly at crucial points like Gilimanuk Port. Congestion persisted for two days during the peak of the homecoming traffic. However, the situation was effectively resolved on the third day through strategic measures—starting with the implementation of buffer zones, expediting large vehicle services, and prioritizing crossings for motorcycles.
ASDP President Director Heru Widodo emphasized that this success is the result of close cross-sector collaboration. Synergy between ASDP, the Ministry of Transportation, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Police, the KSOP (Central Operational Unit), the Regional Transportation Agency (BPTD), and all stakeholders is the main foundation for maintaining service stability.
"We appreciate the support of all parties in ensuring optimal service amidst high public mobility. This synergy is key to ensuring a safe and comfortable journey," he said.
Since the start of the Eid al-Fitr holiday season, ASDP has anticipated the surge in traffic through a measured strategy at four main ports—Merak, Bakauheni, Ketapang, and Gilimanuk. Fleet optimization was carried out dynamically, supported by the Arrival, Unloading, and Departure (TBB) operating pattern to accelerate the service cycle. Furthermore, buffer zones were activated and personnel were reinforced at crucial port points.
Significant Impact of Stimulus
ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale revealed that the single tariff policy, coupled with discount incentives, had a tangible impact. As of March 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), the stimulus had reached Rp30.05 billion, or 84.52 percent of the target, with a beneficiary rate of 116.92 percent.
"This achievement reflects the high level of public enthusiasm for policies that facilitate access to ferry services," he explained.
Furthermore, digitalization through the Ferizy platform is the backbone of service improvements. The integrated reservation system allows for more orderly vehicle and passenger flow, while simultaneously reducing queues during peak periods.
Cumulatively, from D-8 to D+8 at 6:00 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time), the total number of passengers on 15 nationally monitored routes reached 4,722,213, a 6.6 percent increase compared to last year's 4,430,006. Meanwhile, the total number of vehicles reached 1,215,273, an 8 percent increase from 1,125,178 in the same period the previous year.
Moving forward, ASDP is committed to strengthening service quality through continuous innovation and improved operational standards. This commitment ensures every user's journey remains safe, comfortable, and secure—even during peak national mobility times.
