BANDAR LAMPUNG (ISL News) - Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang supports the implementation of the Super Garuda Shield 2026 Joint Military Exercise (Latgabma). This is evidenced by the docking of the MV Cape San Juan at Panjang Port, Lampung, carrying a number of main weapons systems (alutsista) that will be used in the Super Garuda Shield 2026 Joint Exercise series between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the United States Military.
Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang General Manager Hardianto explained that this underscores Panjang Port's strategic role in supporting the national agenda and international defense cooperation. This activity aligns with Danantara's transformation agenda to strengthen Pelindo's role in supporting the national strategic agenda.
"As a state-owned company, Pelindo is always ready to provide support and collaborate with the Indonesian National Armed Forces Headquarters and all relevant stakeholders to ensure the success of strategic activities such as the annual Super Garuda Shield. We ensure that port services, safety, security, and smooth operations are our top priorities," explained Hardianto, General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang.
The arrival of the MV Cape San Juan is an important part of a series of logistics mobilizations to support the implementation of Super Garuda Shield 2026, which is held as an annual routine defense cooperation agenda between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the United States.
Super Garuda Shield itself is a form of defense cooperation that Indonesia and the United States are continuing to develop. In addition to strengthening interoperability and professionalism of the two countries' military personnel, this exercise also serves as an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and interagency coordination in support of national strategic interests.
The berthing of the MV Cape San Juan at Panjang Port demonstrates the port's infrastructure and services readiness to support international logistics mobilization. Pelindo Regional II Panjang continues to strengthen coordination with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure all port activities comply with operational standards and applicable regulations.

From Panjang Port, the defense equipment unloaded from the MV Cape San Juan will then be distributed to Baturaja, South Sumatra, as one of the joint training locations. Following the completion of the Super Garuda Shield 2026 Joint Exercise series, the defense equipment used in the exercise is scheduled to be reloaded onto the MV Cape San Juan in September 2026 via Panjang Port.
