MAKASSAR INDONESIA (ISL News) - PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM) as one of the Subholdings of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) is always making improvements in its services on an ongoing basis, one of which is currently being implemented is the Ship Service Transformation program.
SPJM's HR and General Director, Rachmat Prayogi stated "as a company that provides services, of course our goal is to provide excellent service for all service users, for that we continuously strive to transform all of our main business lines. One of the programs we are working on is the transformation of ship services. With the implementation of integrated planning and control , of course it must be accompanied by the fulfillment of the number of Planer and Radio Operator HR which is continued with increasing their competence through certified training such as ORU/SMCO/GMDSS according to applicable regulations.
To fulfill the number of HR, this is done by providing enrichment of HR experience through the transfer of workers from one business unit to another so that the enrichment program can be achieved. Through this, it is also expected to create a new work spirit that this transfer of workers in turn creates multi-latent and experienced HR in various fields.
The transfer of workers is also followed by Onboarding activities which include knowledge refreshment related to SPJM's profile and business updates , provision of an overview of the Planning and Control program , and understanding of the duties and responsibilities of radio operators to deepen the understanding of the concept of standard operating procedures for ship services and planning and control. In addition to technical skills, participants will also be provided with English communication skills considering the large number of foreign ships served and in the future SPJM will also expand regionally and compete globally, so adequate international language skills are needed.
"SPJM continues to strive to pay attention to talent mapping and worker career patterns by implementing self-development programs in the form of certification and training in fulfilling competencies that support worker career patterns. This transfer of assignment certainly also opens up opportunities for ABK career development who later after becoming radio operators will be able to become planners and open up further career opportunities which of course take into account the results of the performance evaluation concerned," said Rachmat Prayogi.
