JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) - Logistics entrepreneurs are urging the government and toll road operators to evaluate the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road (JTCC) tariffs which are considered too expensive. This evaluation is necessary so that the toll road connected to the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) 2 can be optimally utilized by logistics industry players and increase national logistics efficiency.
Senior Consultant Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI) Sugi Purnoto said the high JTCC tariffs made the road less attractive, especially for transportation and logistics business players.
"The current Cibitung-Cilincing toll rate is too high, even up to 50 percent more expensive than existing toll roads such as Japek or arterial roads. This makes many logistics players reluctant to use the toll road," said Sugi, in Jakarta, Friday (6/12).
Sugi explained that competitive rates are the main key to driving logistics efficiency, which is also one of the government's focuses. If toll rates are more competitive, logistics efficiency can increase by up to 50 percent.
"It is estimated that logistics players will be interested in using JTCC if the tariff is the same as the JOR 2 toll road or drops by around 60 percent from the current JTCC tariff," he said.
The existence of JTCC is actually very important because it connects logistics areas with ports and has long been awaited by logistics players. Reducing travel time, operational costs, and reducing the risk of accidents are real benefits that business players can feel.
However, the high tariffs make logistics entrepreneurs choose other toll routes and only use this toll road as an alternative in emergency conditions. This certainly reduces the potential for time efficiency in smooth logistics using the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road.
SCI hopes for a joint discussion between toll operators, the government, and logistics players to find the best solution regarding the JTCC tariff. The reduction in JTCC tariffs will increase the interest of users, thus potentially increasing the toll road's revenue.
"We all have the same goal, which is to support smooth and efficient logistics. For that, we are ready to dialogue with all parties to find the best solution," said Sugi.
