LHOKSEUMAWE (ISL News) - PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), Subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), is committed to continuing to innovate and improve in order to achieve the Company's vision. One of them is by implementing Go Live Transformation of Standardization & Systemization of Non-Container Terminals at the Lhokseumawe Branch on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Previously, on Thursday, July 4, 2024, socialization regarding this transformation was carried out to service users and related stakeholders, including the Harbor Master and Port Authority Office (KSOP), the Sea and Coast Guard Unit (KPLP), and other stakeholders.
In the port industry, one of the crucial aspects that influences operational success is the efficiency of non-container terminals, and this transformation is part of SPMT's efforts to improve operational efficiency and services at non-container terminals.
Branch Manager of SPMT Lhokseumawe Branch, Joni Hutama, expressed his hope that by implementing the transformation of standardization and systemization of non-container terminals, operational efficiency at Lhokseumawe Port can increase significantly.
According to him, this step will not only speed up the loading and unloading process, but will also increase safety and comfort for all service users.
"We are committed to continuing to innovate to create a superior and highly competitive port, and to be able to make a positive contribution to the regional and national economy," he said.
VP of Corporate Communications & Protocol SPMT Farid Chairmawan, said that the terminal plays an important role in handling various types of cargo other than containers, such as liquid bulk, dry bulk, and general cargo. Success in managing non-container terminals can have a significant positive impact on the overall performance of the port.
Farid explained that the implementation of this transformation involves six main pillars, namely Business Processes, Technology, Equipment, Infrastructure, Human Resources (HR), and Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE).
This transformation also marks the start of the use of the PTOS-M (Pelindo Terminal Operating System Multipurpose) application at the Lhokseumawe Branch for non-container loading and unloading services.
"All operational workers have received training related to the use of this application. So through standardization, every process at the terminal becomes more structured, reducing waiting time and operational costs," explained Farid.
Systemization through PTOS-M supports this process with advanced automation and data management technology. In addition, strictly implemented operating standards can reduce the risk of accidents and improve the safety of workers and transported goods.
Service users and stakeholders welcomed this transformation program and expressed their enthusiasm and full support for the innovative steps taken by SPMT.
They hope that with this transformation, services at the port will be more optimal and can increase user satisfaction.
On the day of Go Live, the event began with a joint prayer attended by all workers at the port and representatives of orphans. This joint prayer is a symbol of hope that the transformation carried out can run smoothly and bring benefits to all parties involved.
