SURABAYA (ISL News) - Subholding PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP) has collaborated to manage part of the container terminal area at Tanjung Priok Port with PT Company Loading and Unloading (PBM) PT Tangguh Samudera Jaya. The area of cooperation includes pier 303-305 with a length of 425 meters and a container stacking yard covering an area of 4.5 hectares. The collaboration between SPTP and PBM Tangguh Samudera Jaya is carried out using a build-operate-transfer (BOT) pattern with a period of 25 years.
PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Corporate Secretary Widyaswendra said the collaboration with PBM Tangguh Samudera Jaya was intended to optimize loading and unloading service activities in the 303-305 dock area. Later, PBM Tangguh Samudera Jaya is required to meet the standards set by SPTP. Both in terms of operational services and the provision of loading and unloading equipment in the collaborated areas and other related matters.
"The partners will invest in the area of cooperation in the form of loading and unloading equipment to support operational activities," said Widyaswendra, Tuesday (30/04/2024).
Furthermore, in this collaboration SPTP also regulates the minimum number of container flows and the level of operational equipment readiness of up to 90 percent. Widyaswendra said that the appointment of PBM PT Tangguh Samudera Jaya as a cooperation partner was carried out openly. His party has made announcements in the mass media and gone through a series of selection stages in accordance with predetermined criteria.
"We hope that this collaboration can provide benefits for both parties and service users," he said.
Main Director of PT PBM Tangguh Samudera Jaya Firman Kartasasmita said that during the collaboration period with SPTP his party would invest in loading and unloading equipment. The equipment is in the form of 4 units of quay container crane/QCC (container loading and unloading equipment at the dock) and 8 rubber tyred gantry crane/RTG units (container loading and unloading equipment at the stacking yard).
"We will ensure that we can fulfill all the matters stipulated in the cooperation agreement, from investment to maintenance of the objects being collaborated to the end of the contract period according to the specified time period," said Firman.
