BONE (ISL News) - The Ro-Ro ship KMP Mishima on Friday (26/4/2024) was successfully evacuated and placed at the Bajoe Ferry Harbor pier following a collision incident with a Motor Sailing Ship (KLM) at the Bajoe Sea Harbor Pier . Head of UPP Class II Bajoe Office Capt. Ramlah said that thanks to the results of coordination with BPTD, ASDP and the Bajoe Port Area Police Chief, the ship was successfully placed at the Bajoe Ferry Port Pier.
Ramlah further said that the incident was caused by KMP Mishima on the Bajoe route to Kolaka experiencing problems with the steering so that the ship could not be controlled. In this incident, all passengers and crew managed to survive and are in good health.
"Thank God, there were no fatalities in this incident, all passengers and crew were safe and healthy, but there was indeed damage to the KLM due to the collision," said Ramlah
At the same time, Ramlah said that after the KMP Mishima process had successfully docked at the Bajoe Ferry Port Pier, the passengers and cargo were unloaded and shipped to another ship.
"After the incident and successfully docking at the Bajoe Ferry Port Pier, the passengers and cargo were unloaded, the passengers and cargo of the ship departed on another ship to serve the community," said Ramlah.
Currently, the UPP Kelas II Bajoe has finished mediating between the owner of the KMP Mishima ship, namely PT. Jemla Ferry and the owner of KLM are local people who work as fishermen.
"We helped with mediation because there was damage to the KLM ship owned by the community, PT. "Jemla Ferry as the ship owner is responsible and will compensate for damage to KLM owned by local ship entrepreneurs," said Ramlah.
