JAKARTA (ISL News) - Starting the first quarter in 2024, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 or Pelindo Regional 2 as a State-Owned Enterprise in the field of port and logistics services shows Positive Performance, where in consolidation the positive trend is found in operational performance container flow, and passenger flow.
Executive Director 2 of Pelindo Regional 2, Drajat Sulistyo, said that in the first quarter of 2024 Pelindo Regional 2 recorded an increase in operational performance in container flows and passenger flows when compared to the same period in 2023.
Container flow performance in the first quarter of 2024 in Region 2 was 1.4 million boxes or grew 5.72% from the total in 2023 which amounted to 1.3 million boxes, with a total of 2 million TEUs or grew 6.18% of the total in 2023 amounting to 1.9 million TEUs. This increase in container flow was due to the entry of several Ad Hoc ships at the Regional 2 Container Port.
Meanwhile, passenger flow showed an increase of 17.57% in the first quarter of 2024 with a total of 208 thousand passengers compared to the first quarter of 2023 which amounted to 177 thousand passengers. "This increase in passenger flow is because it is still the main choice for traveling, especially outside Java during Christmas and school holidays in February 2024, plus cruise ship services that dock in the Regional Port 2 area," said Drajat.
Drajat added that this increase in operational performance was the result of Pelindo's post-merger transformation. Where the increase in loading and unloading productivity is measured by the parameters of boxes per ship per hour (BSH) and the reduction in port stay or the time the ship docks at the port is measured by the number of days.
"For Pelindo Regional 2, efforts to shorten the port stay of ships at the port will have an impact on increasing effectiveness and efficiency in operational services and this will also provide benefits to customers to get even greater business opportunities," concluded Drajat.
