SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL), a subsidiary of Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Subholding, succeeded in receiving 2 (two) prestigious international awards at the 2024 Global Ports Forum (GPF) Awards held at AI Nojoom, Shangri-La Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, April 17 2024. David Pandapotan Sirait, President Director of TTL directly received the award from Thomas Ng, Executive Chairman of the Global Port Forum.
The Global Port Forum Awards are annual awards given by the Global Port Forum, an international organization that brings together professionals and stakeholders in the port industry from around the world. This award is given to recognize excellence in various aspects of port operations and innovation in the maritime industry with award categories covering aspects of sustainability, security, innovation, technology and efficient port management.
This award ceremony also aims to promote and develop best practices in port management, creating collaboration and knowledge exchange among global industry players.
The awards given to David Sirait in the Terminal CEO of the Year 2024 category and to Teluk Lamong Terminal in the Green Port of the Year category are recognition of environmental conservation initiatives. By balancing economic development and policies oriented towards environmental concerns. TTL succeeded in getting the Green Port award after competing with several other international ports/terminals.
In his remarks, Thomas Ng, Executive Chairman of the Global Port Forum said that ports have become important areas that require environmentally sound and sustainable development. “This award is an appreciation for ports that properly coordinate the balance between environmental impacts and economic benefits.
