JAKARTA (ISL News) – PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (“SPSL”) as a Subholding of the Pelindo Port BUMN has served the logistics activities of imported sugar belonging to PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (“PTPN III”) and PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara (“SGN”) for more than 20,000 M/T from January 2024 until now.
Kiki M. Hikmat as Senior Vice President of the SPSL Corporate Secretariat, Tuesday (30/4/24) said that SPSL through its subsidiaries, PT Multi Terminal Indonesia and PT Prima Indonesia Logistik is serving logistics activities in the form of handling imported White Crystal Sugar / Gula Kristal Putih (GKP) containers, warehousing, and delivery in Jakarta and Belawan.
Quoting the words of the Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi, the procurement of imported sugar is carried out to meet the needs of the community which usually experiences an increase in demand during the HBKN momentum, while the new sugar cane milling season will start around May.
So the availability of sugar still has to be supported from outside to maintain market prices in accordance with Perbadanan 11 of 2022 concerning Reference Purchase Prices at the Producer Level and Sales Reference Prices at the Consumer Level / Harga Acuan Penjualan (HAP) for Consumable Sugar Commodities of IDR 13,500/kg.
Based on the calculation of the 2023 Food Commodity Balance from a national requirement of 3.4 million tons, it is estimated that national production will reach 2.6 million tons, while there is still a carry over from 2022 of 1.1 million tons so that 900 thousand tons of procurement is still needed so that at the end This year there is still a stock of 1.2 million tons, and sugar needs during the HBKN momentum can be met sufficiently.
Kiki further explained, since January 2024 SPSL Group has been providing logistics activities for imports of White Crystal Sugar/Gula Kristal Putih (GKP) originating from Thailand, Malaysia, India and Brazil. In Jakarta, SPSL Group serves container handling and warehousing activities at Halal Logistics & Cold storage (HLC) around 13,340 M/T (516x20ft). Meanwhile in Belawan, SPSL Group serves container handling and delivery activities of around 9,900M/T (380x20ft).
In the loading and unloading process, SPSL will continue to strive to provide service excellence and always prioritize HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) or K3 aspects and implement an Integrated Management System.
Kiki added that the company's support for sugar imports is a form of collaboration in SPSL Group's logistics services, with a competitive advantage presented through connectivity to ports so that it can provide an end-to-end and integrated national logistics ecosystem network to provide more effective services. and efficient.
