JAKARTA (ISL News) -
Ministry of Transportation Cq. The Directorate General of Sea Transportation always strives to improve the quality of public services, one of which is by digitalization through the provision of online-based services, including licensing.

This was conveyed by the Director General of Sea Transportation, Capt. Antoni Arif Priadi in his speech at the soft launching of the Business Licensing Service to Support Business Activities (PB-UMKU) Standard Certificate for Approval of Dredging and/or Reclamation Work Activities and Standard Certificate for Online Extension via the SEHATI Application at the Head Office of the Ministry of Transportation in Jakarta , Friday (22/3).

Antoni explained that oriented towards the development of information and communication technology which demands optimization of effectiveness and efficiency, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation has initiated the SEHATI (Integrated HUBLA Electronic System) service in 2020. This application then received a positive response from the public and business actors.

According to him, this is because in the current fast-paced era, the availability of online-based services is a demand of the public, especially in terms of licensing.

"With online services, the licensing process becomes easier, faster, saves time, money and energy. "Apart from that, the entire process can be monitored anytime and anywhere," he said.

Seeing the enormous benefits obtained from online services, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, according to Antoni, continues to strive to develop SEHATI services so that these services can facilitate and simplify all service processes at the Directorate General of Sea Transportation. To date, SEHATI has added services in the port sector, namely Business Licensing Services to Support Business Activities (PB-UMKU), Standard Certificates for Approval of Dredging and/or Reclamation Work Activities and online Standard Certificate Extensions which were launched today.

"This is of course in line with the mission of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, namely ensuring the efficiency of carrying out port activities that are reliable and competitive. "This is also proof that the Directorate General of Sea Transportation continues to keep up with the times and digitalization," he said.

Antoni explained that the new services provided include 6 (six) types of services, namely Standard Certificate for Approval for Dredging Work, Standard Certificate for Approval for Reclamation Work, Standard Certificate for Approval for Dredging and Reclamation Work, Standard Certificate for Extension of Approval for Dredging Work, Standard Certificate for Extension of Approval for Reclamation Work, and Standard Certificate for Extension of Approval for Dredging and Reclamation Work.

This new service in the SEHATI application is expected to make it easier for business entities to process permits and to realize good governance, by providing facilities for business actors to obtain permits safely, quickly and in real time. Apart from that, the permit issuance process is expected to be more efficient, effective and accountable, environmentally friendly because it reduces paper use, and there is digital data documentation.

The development of this service, according to Antoni, is a form of the Government's efforts to respond to demands regarding the continuing increase in the number of applications for business permits for Dredging and/or Reclamation Work Activities and their Extensions in Indonesia from year to year. Apart from that, it also answers the demands of the industrial revolution 4.0 era, where all service processes are required to be fast, practical and accountable by utilizing technology, information and communication.

"In the future, I hope that the SEHATI Application will continue to be developed to become a service that can be used optimally and reach a wider community. "I also ask the Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Office of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation to socialize this matter to business actors who will carry out dredging and reclamation activities in their respective work areas," concluded Antoni.
