JAKARTA (ISL News) - Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI) projects the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the transportation and warehousing sector to reach Rp1,713.24 trillion in 2027, with growth of 7.69 percent. This figure is an increase from the projected Rp1,597.55 trillion in 2026 and the realized Rp1,466.26 trillion in 2025.
More specifically, the transportation subsector's GDP is projected to reach Rp1,340.91 trillion in 2027, with growth of 7.59 percent. Meanwhile, the warehousing subsector's GDP is estimated to reach Rp372.33 trillion, with higher growth of 10.65 percent.
These prospects demonstrate the increasingly important role of transportation, warehousing, and connectivity in supporting economic activity, goods distribution, trade, industry, and market development. However, these growth opportunities are also accompanied by challenges such as global uncertainty, cost pressures, changing demand, investment needs, and demands for increased supply chain efficiency.
To discuss these developments, SCI will hold the Indonesia Economic Outlook (IEO) 2027 on October 6–8, 2026, at the JS Luwansa Hotel in Jakarta. This fifth annual national conference will carry the theme "Driving Growth in a Fragmented Global Economy: Strategy, Resilience & Business Expansion for 2027."
