SURABAYA (ISL News) — PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) continues to strengthen collaboration with shipping companies as part of its efforts to improve service quality and support national logistics connectivity. This commitment was demonstrated through a visit by OOCL Shipping Lines management to PT Terminal Teluk Lamong in Surabaya on Thursday (September 17).
The visit was attended by Karen Lam, Regional Group General Manager of ASNG; Aaron Chen, Regional General Manager of Indonesia; and Samsuar, Branch Manager of Surabaya. The OOCL staff were welcomed by David Pandapotan Sirait, President Director of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, along with members of TTL management.
The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere, discussing the development of terminal operations and services, the dynamics of the shipping and logistics industry, and opportunities for increased collaboration to support OOCL's future service needs.
"This meeting is an important opportunity for us to exchange perspectives and strengthen communication with OOCL. For TTL, a close relationship with the shipping line is a crucial foundation for providing increasingly reliable, responsive services that meet the needs of our customers," said David Pandapotan Sirait, President Director of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong.
David added that TTL will continue to improve operational capabilities, service quality, and the use of technology to support the growth of trade flows and logistics connectivity through Surabaya.
In the discussion, Karen Lam shared her views on Surabaya's strategic position in supporting logistics connectivity, particularly for Eastern Indonesia.
"Surabaya has the potential to continue developing as a hub port for Eastern Indonesia. Amidst development challenges in Jakarta and Semarang, Surabaya can be an alternative to strengthen connectivity and logistics networks," said Karen Lam, Regional Group General Manager of ASNG, OOCL Shipping Lines.
The visit continued with a visit to the Integrated Planning and Control Room (IP&C) at TPK Teluk Lamong. Through this facility, OOCL staff directly observed the integrated, real-time planning, monitoring, and control processes of terminal operations.
“We were impressed with TTL’s Integrated Planning and Control Room, which allows for real-time monitoring of operations, including how the Automated Stacking Crane (ASC) operates in the field,” Karen added.
The implementation of the integrated planning and control system is part of TTL's operational transformation in increasing the effectiveness of terminal management, maintaining smooth loading and unloading activities, and providing better visibility into the service process.
For TTL, OOCL's visit not only serves as a means of strengthening relationships with service users, but also opens up a space for discussion regarding service development and connectivity opportunities that can provide added value for both parties.
Going forward, TTL will continue to strengthen synergies with shipping lines and service users by improving service quality, developing operational capabilities, and utilizing technology. These steps are part of TTL's commitment to providing a reliable, adaptive, and customer-oriented terminal, while also contributing to strengthening national trade connectivity and Eastern Indonesia.
