JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) provided training and certification to 10 stevedoring workers (TKBM) in Cabang Panjang as part of its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) education program from August 19 to 21, 2026.

The program includes training and certification in General Cargo, Dry Bulk, and Liquid Bulk (Dangerous Goods). Participants receive training based on applicable competency standards and then take a competency test to obtain certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) through the Indonesian Port Professional Certification Institute.

SM, Corporate Secretary of PTP Nonpetikemas, stated that this program is part of PTP Nonpetikemas' efforts to implement the Creating Shared Value (CSV) approach in implementing TJSL. Increasing TKBM capacity benefits the workforce through skills strengthening and competency recognition, while also supporting the company's operational needs for standardized stevedoring workers.

"Through this program, we want to provide TKBM with the necessary skills to directly apply in their work. Certification also serves as a form of recognition for their skills, thereby opening up opportunities for increased workforce competitiveness," said Fiona.

In addition to providing benefits to participants, the program also supports SDGs Number 4: Quality Education, through the development of skills relevant to the needs of the world of work.

PTP Nonpetikemas Branch Manager Panjang Branch, Doddy Setiawan, said that this program is expected to be an opportunity for TKBM to increase their capacity and strengthen their readiness to face the demands of work in the port environment.

"We hope the knowledge gained during the training can be applied in their daily work and provide them with the necessary tools for future development. Operationally, we also hope this capacity increase will support the smooth running of loading and unloading activities at the PTP Non-Container Panjang Branch," added Doddy.

PTP Nonpetikemas will continue to develop community empowerment programs that are relevant to the needs around its operational areas, by prioritizing benefits that can be felt sustainably by the community while supporting the company's business continuity.
