JAKARTA TANJUNG PRIOK (ISL News) — Early health checkups are one way to maintain the quality of life for the community, especially for toddlers and the elderly. Through the Pelindo Sehat Program, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, together with the Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), provided free health checkups for 100 toddlers and 100 elderly people in Sukapura Village, North Jakarta, on Friday (August 21).
A total of 200 residents participated in the screening, which began at 8:00 a.m. WIB. This program targets communities around the operational area of Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, with particular attention to monitoring the growth and development of toddlers and preventing degenerative diseases in the elderly.
The examinations are intended to monitor growth and development and detect potential health problems early. For the elderly, the examinations are expected to help prevent degenerative diseases and maintain independence in daily activities. These activities also include education on healthy lifestyles for the community and the elderly.
Yandri Trisaputra, Executive General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, stated that the health of the community around the port area is part of the company's commitment to social and environmental responsibility. He stated that health checks are not only important for assessing health conditions but also for fostering a habit of regular check-ups in the community.
"Through Pelindo Sehat, we want to be more present with the community, especially toddlers and the elderly who need attention in maintaining their health. We hope these check-ups will help parents monitor their children's growth and development while also encouraging the elderly to stay healthy and independent. For us, Pelindo is not only part of port activities, but also can be a bridge of care for the communities surrounding our operational areas," said Yandri.
Pelindo hopes this initiative will provide lasting benefits to the Sukapura community. Regular check-ups are expected to raise public awareness and promote greater health care, ensuring optimal growth for toddlers and enabling seniors to age more healthily and productively.
The Pelindo Sehat program also involves the Cilincing Community Health Center and the Port Hospital. This collaboration is part of Pelindo's efforts to expand the benefits of its corporate social programs to better meet the needs of the communities surrounding its operations.
