JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) affirms its commitment to supporting environmental rehabilitation efforts and strengthening coastal ecosystems through participation in The North Green Movement initiated by the North Jakarta Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI).
Through the collaboration of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program in the environmental sector, IPC TPK took part in mangrove planting activities carried out in the Angke Kapuk Protected Forest Area, North Jakarta. Carrying the spirit of “Together Protecting Jakarta’s Coast, Inheriting the Future”, the collaborative movement succeeded in collecting 3,000 mangrove seedlings through the support of various parties, including HIPMI, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, and the business world.
This activity was also attended by the Mayor of North Jakarta Administration, Hendra Hidayat, S.IP., MA, as a form of support for collaboration in maintaining and preserving Jakarta’s coastal ecosystem. The General Chairperson of the North Jakarta HIPMI BPC, Victor Herryanto, stated that the North Green Movement is not only interpreted as a mangrove planting activity, but also as an effort to build a shared commitment and responsibility in protecting coastal areas.
"Protecting the coast is not only an environmental issue, but also related to the sustainability of the city, economic activity, and the future of future generations. We hope this movement can be part of a joint effort to maintain Jakarta's coastline sustainably," said Victor.
IPC TPK's support for this movement is a concrete manifestation of the company's commitment to providing contributions that not only benefit the community, but also create a positive impact on the environment. As part of the national logistics and port ecosystem, IPC TPK recognizes that the sustainability of the coastal environment is closely linked to the sustainability of economic activity and the lives of the surrounding communities.
"For IPC TPK, sustainability isn't just about maintaining business continuity, but also about ensuring the environment and society can thrive together. Through our TJSL collaboration with The North Green Movement, we want to play our part in preserving the mangrove ecosystem as a natural barrier to coastal areas and an environmental investment for future generations," said Daniel Setiawan, Senior Manager of the IPC TPK Corporate Secretariat.
Mangroves play a strategic role in maintaining the balance of coastal ecosystems, including as habitats for various biota, carbon sinks, and natural protection for coastal areas from abrasion and the impacts of climate change. Therefore, mangrove rehabilitation efforts are not only an environmental agenda but also part of a long-term investment in building coastal resilience.
Through this collaboration, IPC TPK hopes that the spirit of environmental protection can continue to grow into a sustainable collective movement. Participation in The North Green Movement aligns with the company's CSR commitment to continuously build collaborations that provide benefits and create shared value for the environment, society, and ecosystem sustainability. Because protecting the coast today is part of protecting Indonesia's future.
