SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) continues to strengthen its commitment to improving the quality of human resources while opening up job opportunities for communities around the company's operational area.
This commitment is realized through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program in the form of free Gada Pratama Training and Certification for the Ring 1 community of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong. The program, which was officially opened at the Main Office of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, was held for 10 days, from August 19 to 28, 2026 at Graha Pondok Kasih.
A total of 15 selected participants from seven sub-districts around the company's operational area participated in the program. The training is designed to equip participants with basic security competencies as well as official Gada Pratama certification as capital to enter the professional workforce.
Through this program, TTL hopes that Ring 1 residents will not only gain skills but also have recognized competencies that can increase competitiveness and job opportunities. During the training, participants received various materials related to the duties and responsibilities of the Security Unit (Satpam), including Basic Police Regulations (Perdaspol), self-defense, use of security equipment, patrols, escorts, effective communication, and excellent service.
Participants also received training on Occupational Safety and Health (K3), fire extinguishing techniques, preparing incident reports, and handling Crime Scenes (TKP). The series of training is expected to shape security personnel who are professional, disciplined, have integrity, and are responsible.
Senior Manager of Corporate Secretary & Legal Affairs of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, Syaiful Anam, said that the TTL TJSL program continues to be directed to provide sustainable impacts by strengthening the capacity and independence of the community. "Our TJSL program continues to transform from a direct assistance or charity approach to sustainable community empowerment. Industrial progress and the sustainability of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong's business must go hand in hand with improving the welfare of the surrounding community," said Anam.
"Through this Gada Pratama training and certification, we want to provide competency provisions as well as professional legality to Ring 1 residents so that they are better prepared and competitive to enter the world of work," he added.
The Asemrowo Sub-district Head, Mohammad Zulchaidir, who attended the opening ceremony, also expressed his appreciation. He encouraged participants to make the most of the training opportunity and build pride in the security profession.
"The security guard profession is a noble one that requires high integrity and discipline. With this official Gada Pratama certification, we hope that participants will have stronger competencies and legal standing, and be recognized by the professional world," said Zulchaidir.
He also encouraged the community to continue actively participating in the various empowerment programs held by the company. "We hope the community will be increasingly enthusiastic about taking advantage of the training and empowerment programs provided by PT Terminal Teluk Lamong. Opportunities like this can be a means for residents to continuously improve their competencies, open up job opportunities, and ultimately improve family welfare," he added.
Through the spirit of "Growing Together," PT Terminal Teluk Lamong is committed to continuing to present TJSL programs oriented towards empowerment, improving competency, and creating economic opportunities for the surrounding community. This step is part of the company's efforts to grow sustainably while providing real benefits to the communities and environment surrounding its operational areas.
