SUBANG WEST JAVA (ISL News) - The Patimban Class II Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) announced that the MSC ARIA III vessel has completed its first international container service at the Patimban Port Container Terminal.
The MSC ARIA III arrived at Patimban Port on Thursday, July 9, 2026, and departed for Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 19.45 LT after completing container loading activities.
The ship's departure marks the launch of international container services at Patimban Port through the Enhanced Seahorse Service, operated by the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). This service connects Indonesia with several countries in Asia, particularly China, Thailand, and Singapore.
The MSC ARIA III is a Liberian-flagged container ship with a gross tonnage of 28,097, a length of anchorage of 215.29 meters, and a draft of 11.55 meters. On its maiden voyage, the MSC ARIA III loaded 761 container boxes, equivalent to 1,473 TEUs, including 92 filled container boxes.
The smooth operation of the initial service is inseparable from the support and coordination of various parties, including KSOP Class II Patimban in the arrangement and sterilization of operational areas, Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine in ship and goods services, as well as scouting services in supporting the safe and orderly ship maneuvering process.
Going forward, international container services at the Patimban Port Container Terminal are scheduled to operate weekly, with one visit per week. In addition, domestic container services via feeder services are also scheduled to operate once per week, further strengthening Patimban Port's logistics connectivity for both international and domestic services.
The Head of the Patimban Class II KSOP Office, Mohd Arief Agustian, expressed his appreciation to all parties who had supported the smooth running of the inaugural service, starting from the arrival process, loading activities, to the departure of the ship.
According to him, the implementation of this first international container service is an important milestone in the development of Patimban Port as one of the national strategic logistics hubs.
"The inaugural international container service at Patimban Port reflects the growing confidence of international shipping companies in the readiness of Patimban's infrastructure, services, and port ecosystem," Arief said.
Through these services, Patimban Port is expected to further strengthen Indonesia's international shipping connectivity, while also providing a wider range of logistics services for businesses, industries, exporters, importers, and port service users.
KSOP Class II Patimban affirmed its commitment to continue supporting professional port services, shipping safety and security, and smooth port operations through coordination with terminal operators, shipping companies, government agencies, and all stakeholders.
Going forward, strengthening international and domestic container services at Patimban Port is expected to support increased trade, investment, logistics competitiveness, and national economic growth.
