JAKARTA TANJUNG PRIOK (ISL News) – All members of INSA Jaya, through the XVIII Branch Members Meeting (RAC) on Thursday today (18/6/2026), held at El Hotel, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, agreed (by acclamation) to re-entrust the leadership of INSA Jaya to Ir. Andi S. Patonangi, for the 2026-2031 term.

In her remarks, INSA DPP Chairwoman Carmelita Hartoto paid tribute to the late Capt. Alimudin, who dedicated his life to leading the INSA JAYA DPC with full responsibility and dedication. She expressed her hope that all his acts of worship and dedication to the organization and the shipping industry would be a continuing charity accepted by God Almighty.

"Our highest appreciation goes to Mr. Andi S. Patonangi, who has continued the mandate as the Interim Replacement Chairman (PAW) of the INSA JAYA Branch Executive Board. The transition period was certainly not easy, but he was able to maintain the organization's continuity, maintain communication with the INSA Central Executive Board, and carry out the organization's mandate responsibly," said Carmelita.

On that occasion, Carmelita emphasized the RAC INSA Jaya Theme, "DPC INSA JAYA is Ready to Synergize and Collaborate to Face Challenges Towards a Progressive Indonesia", according to Carmelita, which is very appropriate to the conditions currently being faced by the national shipping business at this time and in the future.

"We can't go it alone. Now is the time to strengthen our togetherness, increase collaboration, and build better communication between business owners and stakeholders. I hope this RAC won't just be a forum for submitting reports or electing new management. More importantly, this RAC can be a place for us to openly discuss the various issues we face daily in the field," Carmelita hoped.

Take on the Role of Transportation Commodities

According to Carmelita, there are many new opportunities for national shipping now and in the future. The government, through PT Danantara, continues to make various efforts to improve the governance of national commodity trade and exports to make them more transparent and efficient. Therefore, for those of us in the shipping business, not only will trade grow, but the national fleet will also experience increasing benefits. We must not allow Indonesian commodities to be transported primarily by foreign vessels (foreign vessels).

"Therefore, in the future, Indonesian-flagged vessels can play a greater role in transporting national export commodities. If exports grow, the national fleet must also grow. I believe Indonesia has great potential to become a maritime nation that is not only strong as a commodity producer but also increasingly strong in managing its own logistics and transportation chains," said Carmelita.

Carmelita also hopes that the spirit of synergy and collaboration that is the theme of this year's RAC will not stop as a slogan. "As the largest branch in the INSA environment, we will continue to be an example in maintaining organizational unity, fighting for the interests of members, and making real contributions to the advancement of the national shipping industry. Congratulations and success for the implementation of RAC INSA JAYA XVIII. I also express my highest appreciation to all levels of DPC INSA JAYA management and the organizing committee who have worked hard to prepare this event so that it can be carried out well today," she said.

At the opening ceremony of the XVIII Insa Jaya RAC, among others, were the Head of Tanjung Priok KSOP Heru Susanto, Carmelita Hartoto, General Chairperson of DPP INSA accompanied by Capt. Zaenal Arifin Hasibuan, Capt. Mugen R. Sartoto, Head of Tanjung Priok Navigation District, Capt. Suwondo, Chairperson of DPW APBMI Jakarta, Adil Karim, Chairperson of ALFI Jakarta and Yandri Trisaputra as Executive GM of Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok.
