JAMBI INDONESIA (ISL News) – The Jambi Area Container Terminal (IPC TPK) is supporting the smooth export of cinnamon, a leading regional commodity, by optimizing services at the Talang Duku Port Container Terminal. This effort aligns with the strategic collaboration between PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Regional 2 Jambi and Cassia Co-Op to promote the export of cinnamon from Kerinci to the global market.

Through this collaboration, containerized cinnamon exports are targeted to reach 1,500 tons by 2026, targeting the American, European, and Asian markets. Indonesia is one of the world's leading cinnamon producers, contributing approximately 20% of global supply. The Kerinci region in Jambi Province is a key center, contributing the majority of national production and known for producing export-quality cinnamon.

IPC TPK Jambi Area Operations Manager, Wedhar Tani Aji, said that terminal operational readiness is a key factor in maintaining the smooth flow of exports.

"As a terminal operator, we ensure the readiness of our logistics services to remain efficient and integrated, ensuring smoother and more timely distribution. This is key to maintaining the competitiveness of our region's leading commodities in the global market," he said.

He added that Jambi boasts a variety of superior commodities with significant potential for growth in the international market, such as coffee, rubber, betel nut, and others. The presence of a reliable port and logistics system is expected to serve as a hub for local products, increasing their exposure to the global market.

"In principle, the port is ready to support the export of Jambi's native commodities. Beyond cinnamon, there are many other regional potentials that can be developed together. This, of course, requires collaboration and synergy between the government, businesses, farmers, and all stakeholders to maximize this potential," he added.

This collaboration not only streamlines distribution but also expands international market access for local commodities and increases added value for local businesses and farmers. With the support of an efficient logistics system, Kerinci cinnamon is expected to strengthen Indonesia's position in the global spice supply chain.

Going forward, IPC TPK Jambi Area will continue to improve the quality of port services and operational efficiency to support the role of Talang Duku Port as a gateway for exporting Jambi's leading commodities to the international market.
