Jambi's IPC TPK Records 22.5% Growth in Container Flow in March 2026

JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, April 17, 2026)  – Container throughput at the Jambi Area Container Terminal (IPC TPK) recorded significant growth in March 2026, in line with increased distribution activity ahead of Eid al-Fitr.  Throughput volume  increased 22.5% compared to the same period last year.

Based on operational data, the container flow of IPC TPK Jambi Area reached 2,775 TEUs in March 2026, up from 2,265 TEUs in March 2025. This surge reflects the increasing logistics mobility in the Jambi region, both for domestic consumption needs and commodity distribution.

This strengthening performance is also in line with Jambi Province's continued solid foreign trade. In January 2026, Jambi's exports reached US$152.92 million, far exceeding imports of US$11.16 million, resulting in a significant trade surplus. Jambi's export structure, dominated by the industrial sector and leading commodities such as palm oil derivatives, rubber, and forestry products, contributes to high logistics activity in the region.

IPC TPK Jambi Area Operations Manager, Wedhar Tani Aji, stated that this achievement is the result of the company's consistent commitment to maintaining reliable services. "This growth reflects our efforts to ensure reliable operations, accelerate loading and unloading services, and strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders," he said.

Operationally, the increase in container traffic in March was driven by a surge in domestic container volumes. Cement distribution increased in line with the massive infrastructure development in the Jambi region. Furthermore, shipments of basic necessities such as rice, flour, and other food and beverages also increased, in line with rising public demand ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

On the other hand, the import trend, dominated by industrial machinery and equipment, indicates continued growth in production and construction activity. This contributes to the growing need for efficient and reliable logistics services.

To maintain this momentum, the Jambi Area IPC TPK continues to strengthen operational readiness by improving human resource competency and maintaining and optimizing loading and unloading equipment. These steps are taken to ensure all terminal activities run smoothly, safely, and meet service standards.

"We view the Jambi container terminal not just as a loading and unloading point, but as  an enabler of  economic growth. With our continuously improving service readiness, we are optimistic that we can support the smooth flow of logistics while strengthening the competitiveness of the regional and national economies," Wedhar concluded.
