PALEMBANG (ISL News) - In order to improve the culture of occupational safety and health (K3) in the port environment, Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang in collaboration with the Class I Palembang Harbormaster & Port Authority Office (KSOP) and the Boom Baru Port Area Police Sector (KSKP) held K3 Training Safety Truck Driving Training in the Musi Meeting Room of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang.
The Safety Truck Driving Training was attended by 80 participants for 2 (two) days who were logistics truck drivers from companies that are members of the DPW ALFI / ILFA South Sumatra association and DPD Aptrindo South Sumatra, this training activity is part of the Pelindo Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program organized by PT Pendidikan Maritim dan Logistik Indonesia.
This training was carried out as an effort by Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang to encourage the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) culture in the Port Area, especially in goods transportation activities, in order to reduce the potential for work accidents and improve operational safety.
Present in person at the training were the Secretary of the ALFI / ILFA DPW of South Sumatra, Eddy Resdianto and the Chairman of the Aptrindo DPD of South Sumatra, Supriadi, Representatives from the Palembang Class I Harbormaster & Port Authority Office and the Boom Baru Port Area Police Sector.
The General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, represented by the Business Compliance Manager, Iwan Sanjaya, in his remarks said, "The purpose of this training is to refresh or re-invigorate the training participants, who are drivers in carrying out activities in the Boom Baru Port environment, by prioritizing the elements of Occupational Safety, Security and Health as an effort to support the fulfillment of improvements to Boom Baru Port in the future."
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the DPW ALFI / ILFA South Sumatra, Eddy Resdianto said, "I really appreciate this event to Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang for initiating the training. This shows that Pelindo cares about safety by seriously enforcing safe driving ."
The Chairman of the South Sumatra Aptrindo DPD, Supriadi, also said, "Hopefully, this K3 safety driving training can answer all the things we don't want. For all our drivers, today we are carrying out this training to increase their insight and how to drive our large vehicles, which indeed requires adequate knowledge. We thank Pelindo."
The training material was delivered by Agus Triono from KSOP Class I Palembang, Aiptu Sandra Ricci from Kanit Binmas KSKP Boom Baru and Ceppy Maulana as Junior Manager of HR, General & KBL Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang related to activities at the Port and understanding of driving safety ( safety truck driving ) in the port area, including identification of potential hazards, compliance with signs and standard operating procedures, safe driving techniques, and the importance of driver physical readiness and vehicle roadworthiness.
Through this activity, Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang hopes that truck drivers operating in the port environment can increasingly understand the importance of occupational safety as a shared responsibility, while also becoming strategic partners in supporting the smooth flow of national logistics.
