SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS), a subsidiary of Subholding Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP), received a visit from the Indonesia Service Dialogue (ISD), a policy dialogue institution focused on strengthening the national service and logistics sector. The visit was received directly by TPS Operations Director, Noor Budiwan, on Thursday (January 22, 2026) at the TPS Office, Jalan Tanjung Mutiara 1 Surabaya.

This activity is part of ISD's collaboration with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia in the initiative to study and develop the coconut industry in Eastern Indonesia, especially East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Through this collaboration, ISD and its partners seek to identify challenges and opportunities within the coconut industry value chain, from production and processing to distribution and logistics. The goal is to increase the competitiveness of Eastern Indonesian coconut commodities in both domestic and international markets.

As one of Indonesia's largest logistics hubs , Surabaya is seen as strategically important for the movement of goods from Eastern Indonesia to Java and beyond. Therefore, the meeting with PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) is expected to open up discussions on potential improvements in coconut logistics efficiency and other operational support.

Acting Corporate Secretary of TPS, Adhi Kresna Novianto, stated that TPS welcomed the visit and collaborative initiative from the Indonesia Services Dialogue (ISD) in an effort to strengthen the connectivity of the coconut commodity logistics chain from Eastern Indonesia. "As part of the Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Subholding, we understand that Surabaya plays a strategic role as a distribution gateway for the eastern region, so cooperation and dialogue like this are crucial to continue driving efficiency and increasing national logistics competitiveness," he said.

"Through the ongoing hearings and discussions, we see potential synergies that can have a positive impact, not only on strengthening the coconut industry value chain but also on improving the quality of more integrated logistics services. TPS is committed to providing optimal support within our capacity and mandate, including operational coordination and occupational safety aspects, to ensure the smooth flow of goods and the sustainability of the logistics ecosystem in Indonesia," he added.
