BANTEN (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Banten commemorated National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Day by strengthening its commitment to implementing an OHS culture across all operational areas at Ciwandan Port (January 13, 2026). This commemoration serves as a momentum to emphasize the importance of OHS as a primary foundation in supporting safe, reliable, and sustainable port operations.
In line with the theme of National Occupational Health and Safety Month, "Building a Professional, Reliable, and Collaborative National Occupational Health and Safety Management Ecosystem," Pelindo Regional 2 Banten consistently encourages the strengthening of the OHS management system through increased work discipline, compliance with safety standards, and routine supervision in operational areas. This step is applied to all port activities, from loading and unloading, ship services, to passenger services, so that every process runs with a priority on occupational safety and health.
General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Benny Ariadi, emphasized that occupational safety is not merely a regulatory obligation and annual ceremony, but rather a value inherent in the work culture of port personnel at all times.
"Occupational safety and health have become an obligation and a part of the work culture at the port. Pelindo Regional 2 Banten prioritizes K3 in all daily operations, because behind the smooth operation of port services, human safety must be maintained," Benny said.
This strengthened commitment to OHS is also realized through ongoing education for workers and partners, emergency response simulations, provision of standard personal protective equipment, and monitoring compliance with regulations. These efforts are expected to minimize potential occupational risks while creating a safe, orderly, and productive port environment.
"A safe work environment will foster optimal performance. With the implementation of K3, service to service users will be smoother, public trust will increase, and port operations will be sustainable," Benny concluded.
In addition, at this moment, Pelindo Banten held a blood donation activity as part of the 2026 K3 Service Month series. This activity was carried out in collaboration with the Cilegon City PMI led by Dr. Arasy Fitri Amir, and involved workers from Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Pelindo Group (PTP, JAI, SPJM, and BIMA), customers and tenants, contractors and work partners, TKBM cooperatives, APTRINDO, KSKP, and KSOP.
Through this commemoration of National K3 Day, Pelindo Banten affirms its commitment to continue building a strong safety culture as part of the transformation of port services, by providing safe, reliable, and humane services through a spirit of wholehearted service.
