MEDAN INDONESIA (ISL News) - PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), a subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), which operates non-container terminals, ensures optimal readiness and service at all ports it manages during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) holiday period. This commitment includes ensuring smooth passenger services and the flow of goods, in line with increased public mobility and logistics activity during the Nataru period.
Amidst the government's policy regarding the appeal to provide opportunities to carry out work from other locations or Work from Anywhere (WFA) during the Christmas and New Year holiday period, Pelindo Multi Terminal ensures that the port operational service sector remains on standby 24 hours, considering its vital role in maintaining the smooth mobility of goods and passengers. Pelindo Multi Terminal continues to carry out all its operational activities in 20 branches spread across various regions in Indonesia including: Sumatra (Belawan, Malahayati, Lhokseumawe, Dumai, Sibolga, Tanjungpinang, Tanjung Balai Karimun), Java (Tanjung Emas, Tanjung Intan, Jamrud Nilam Mirah, Gresik, Tanjung Wangi), Kalimantan (Balikpapan, Trisakti, Bumiharjo Bagendang), Sulawesi (Makassar, Parepare) and Bali & Nusa Tenggara (Bima Badas, Lembar, Benoa).
Pelindo Multi Terminal Operations Director Arif Rusman Yulianto said the company will continue to provide non-container loading and unloading services and other port services during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
"We are ensuring that port operations will operate normally during the Christmas and New Year holiday period. A number of anticipatory measures are in place to address potential surges in cargo and passenger traffic, as well as year-end weather changes, to maintain the smooth flow of national logistics and ensure quality service to our customers," Arif explained.
In maintaining operational continuity, Pelindo Multi Terminal checks the readiness of port facilities and loading and unloading equipment, implements operational services in accordance with applicable procedures, strengthens the readiness of operational human resources (HR) through work pattern arrangements and personnel assignments, regulates traffic routes inside and outside the terminal to prevent potential congestion, improves occupational safety and health (K3) aspects, monitors the weather regularly, and coordinates intensively with a number of stakeholders in the port environment. Pelindo Multi Terminal also supports government policies related to the goods transportation restriction scheme during the Christmas and New Year period, so that loading and unloading activities can continue to run optimally.
Arif added that service users can contact customer relations if they encounter problems with non-container port operational services or require further information regarding the company's services.
"We are committed to providing the best and most sustainable service at all ports, for both passengers and cargo. We ensure safe, smooth, and efficient operations by prioritizing safety, security, and service quality for our customers. With this preparedness, we are optimistic that we can maintain customer trust and open 2026 with a positive spirit and improved operational performance," Arif concluded.
