According to CNBC Indonesia, based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) processed by Indonesia Eximbank, Indonesia's exports to Africa have experienced stable growth with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 9.47% in the last five years. The five main destinations for Indonesia's exports in Africa include Egypt (37%), Cameroon (7.3%), Djibouti (7%), South Africa (6.1%), and Nigeria (5.5%). This shows that African countries are export destinations that have very large business opportunities.
The presence of this new service encourages export and import opportunities from Indonesia to Djibouti and Jeddah and opens connectivity to ports in the Middle East such as Sokhna, Aqaba and Port Sudan.
"Hopefully, with this new service, it can encourage the growth of Indonesian exports and imports with countries in Africa, which is in line with the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia in encouraging cooperation with African countries such as Djibouti, Uganda, Somalia & Zanzibar." Pramestie concluded.
