SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP), again held a Safety Awareness socialization activity simultaneously in all container terminals managed by the company, Wednesday (06/11). This activity aims to increase awareness and work safety culture, especially for stevedores (TKBM) and all stakeholders involved in terminal operations.
HR Director of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Ady Sutrisno emphasized the importance of understanding and commitment to safety in the terminal as a must. Work safety is the main priority of SPTP. He emphasized that every individual has a responsibility to remind each other of behavior and conditions that have the potential to cause work accidents in the field.
"Safety is not just a slogan, an appeal, or a mere formality, but more than that, safety concerns the safety and even the lives of workers in the terminal area," he stressed.
The socialization activities carried out offline at each terminal were attended by representatives from the local Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP), Terminal Head, and TKBM administrators. The participants were given a deep understanding of the importance of work safety, safety programs which are SPTP commitments translated into Safety Induction, Minimum Requirements and Terminal Sterilization or called SMS as well as various best practices to prevent work accidents.
As a form of commitment to work safety, all participants also signed a safety commitment. Through this signing, it is expected that all parties can work together actively to create a safe and productive work environment by carrying the motto 'High Performance Zero Accident'.
"For us, a comprehensive understanding and commitment to occupational safety is part of the sustainability efforts both from the operational and business side of the company, we hope that safety can be understood as an obligation, not a compulsion, we hope that all stakeholders will work together to create a work environment free from accidents," added Ady.
Head of the Harbor Master and Main Port Authority Office of Tanjung Perak Agustinus Maun who attended the safety awareness activity at the Berlian Terminal of Tanjung Perak Port said that work safety for TKBM is very important. They work to support the smooth flow of logistics at the port. It is important for TKBM to make safety a culture to minimize the risk of work accidents considering that the container terminal is a high-risk area.
"Safety needs to be understood by TKBM colleagues to ensure that they go to work at the container terminal in a healthy condition, with enthusiasm and return home safely," he said.
