JAKARTA TANJUNG PRIOK (ISL News)
 - IPC Terminal Petikemas/IPC TPK, a subsidiary of Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, has once again been trusted by Mediterranean Shipping Company to serve the inaugural ship (Maiden Voyage) Koala Service with the MSC Sijing Voy. FP444A ship, which is agented by MSC Indonesia. The ship is traveling on the route Jakarta - Fremantle - Jakarta - Shanghai - Hong Kong - Jakarta. The plan is that this route will dock twice a week.

"IPC TPK is committed to strengthening collaboration with shipping and supporting customer businesses with certainty of loading and unloading services and  berthing on arrival . The presence of Koala services will provide added value to business actors and contribute to the growth of export-import volumes between Australia and China," said Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary of IPC TPK.

China is Indonesia's largest export and import destination. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that in October 2024,  non-oil and gas exports  to China were US$5.66 billion and  non-oil and gas imports  to China were the largest at US$6.43 billion. On the other hand, export and import figures to Australia continued to decline throughout 2024.  Service  Koala is expected to be a trigger for the growth of Australia's export and import flows.

The inauguration of MSC's new shipping service was held at Terminal 3 of Tanjung Priok Port, attended by IPC TPK's Director of Finance, HR and Risk Management Yanuar Evyanto, MSC Indonesia's Deputy General Manager Hayati Koeanda and the management of IPC TPK and MSC Indonesia.

MSC Sijing, a Liberian flag ship with a length of 172 meters, a width of 28 meters and a draft of 8.5, docked at pier 301 Terminal 3 of Tanjung Priok Port on Monday (11/18) at 06:00 WIB. Terminal 3 of Tanjung Priok Port managed by IPC TPK is a  transhipment  hub location  for cargo from the Intra Asia route transported by  other MSC services  docked at Tanjung Priok Port to then be loaded onto the Koala service with the destination of Fremantle, Australia.

The docking of MV MSC Sijing is the sixth new IPC TPK route service in 2024. The Koala service is MSC's innovation in supporting business people who will send goods to the two continents of Australia and East Asia (China).

"Appreciation for the alertness of the team and the readiness of the loading and unloading equipment provided by IPC TPK which supports MSC in presenting the Koala Service. Hopefully the collaboration that has been established can support the strengthening of Indonesia's logistics competitiveness and encourage business growth." concluded Hayati Koeanda, Deputy GM MSC Indonesia.
