JAKARTA (ISL News)
 - Pelindo successfully served the first visit of a luxury cruise ship belonging to the international company Resorts World Cruises at Tanjung Priok Port. This is proof of Indonesia's readiness to become a Cruise Homeport in the Asian region.

"We appreciate the trust given by the management of Resorts World Cruises who have chosen and made Tanjung Priok one of their homeports in Asia," said Group Head of Pelindo Corporate Secretariat, Ardhy Wahyu Basuki.

The cruise ship that docked at pier 106 of Tanjung Priok Harbor on Sunday afternoon (16/6) is called Resorts World One and is about 268 meters long and about 37 meters wide. To welcome tourists arriving and departing at Tanjung Priok Port, Pelindo has prepared a boarding bridge for comfortable boarding and disembarking of passengers, a waiting room, as well as facilities for handling passengers' baggage. On its maiden voyage, the Resorts World One ship will carry 3,500 passengers and crew from Tanjung Priok to Singapore.

"Today's first voyage is a dream come true for us and we would like to thank the Indonesian government, local authorities, travel agent partners, the media and customers for the support they have provided so that this first voyage is one worth remembering and celebrating. Together- "Let's welcome Indonesia and ASEAN as one of the largest cruise tourism destinations in the world," said President of Resorts World Cruises, Michael Goh.

Ardhy then explained that Pelindo continues to collaborate and explore further the potential for future cooperation and development to increase the tourist ship, cruise and yacht business in various locations in Indonesia.

This is in line with the government's steps to provide operational convenience for tourist ships, cruises and yachts, in terms of policy and operations for sailing in Indonesian waters in creating a dynamic and high quality tourism industry.

"We together with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the Ministry of Transportation and Pelindo will continue to make improvements when cruise ships enter Indonesia, one of which is improving infrastructure, then facilitating promotion in Indonesia, especially in the cruise tourism sector and then relaxing regulations. This is very important for the future, " explained the Director of Special Interest Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Itok Parikesit.

Resorts World One is scheduled to make 4 round trips and one way to Singapore. Depart from Jakarta for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Singapore, then return to Jakarta for six days and five nights. Tourists can board the Resorts World One ship from Tanjung Priok Harbor in Jakarta with its maiden voyage today followed by departures on June 21 (Friday), June 26 (Wednesday) and July 1 (Monday).

"This is my first experience on a cruise trip and I don't need to go all the way to Singapore and Malaysia because now I can board directly from Tanjung Priok Harbor, Jakarta, making the cost more affordable," said Melinda, one of the passengers on the Resorts World One ship.

Melinda added that she was very impressed with the service and facilities provided at the Nusantara Pura Passenger Terminal at Tanjung Priok Port and would recommend it to friends and family.

"With the success of this initial service, we hope to continue to increase cooperation with Resorts World Cruises to advance Indonesia's maritime tourism industry," concluded Ardhy.
