JAKARTA TANJUNG PRIOK (ISL News)
  - Last Thursday, June 27, 2024. PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal Tbk (IPCC) conducted a Table Top Exercise and Wet Drill for Oil Spill Response Equipment in Waters which was attended by representatives from KSOP Tanjung Priok, Executive Director Regional 2 and Executive General Manager Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, Tanjung Priok Port Police Chief, Directors of subsidiaries, Stakeholders/partners in the Tanjung Priok Port area, IPCC personnel and workers in the regional area 2 of Tanjung Priok port.

The implementation of the Table Top Exercise and Wet Drill for Oil Spill Control Equipment in Waterways is carried out routinely in collaboration between Regional 2 Tanjung Priok and its subsidiaries every 2 times a year in turn in the regional 2 Tanjung Priok work area. On the day's activities, PT OSCT Indonesia again became the organizing partner who coordinated talent and the flow of activities from planning to implementation.

"As a company that manages a Special Vehicle Terminal, IPCC enthusiastically and openly welcomes invited guests to witness and learn directly about the disaster management process if it occurs in our work area,"said Wing Megantoro (Director of Finance, HR and Risk Management) who was present in person.

In addition, this activity is carried out to fulfill the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 58 of 2013 concerning Pollution Control in Waters and Ports, the availability of control personnel, education, and increasing understanding of Oil Spill Control at sea, especially in the Port work area.

The following are details of the simulation that has been carried out:

1. Incident Simulation

An oil spill occurred as a result of a ship colliding with a pier, with an estimated MFO (marine fuel oil) spill of 101.59 m³ or 101,590 liters. The oil spill is heading east and requires immediate attention.

2. Coordination and Initial Handling

Incident notification is done via radio or by security officers to the On Scene Commander (OSC). The OSC then provides a briefing to the oil spill response team, including the support boat operator, and deploys the Oil Spill Response Equipment (PPTM).

3. Title of PPTM

Oil booms, skimmers, and temporary storage on land were deployed to contain and protect the oil spill.

4. Closing of Practice

The latest information indicates that the oil spill has been successfully stopped. PPTM was then demobilized.

The implementation of this activity is expected to have a positive impact on all parties involved. Directly for the IPCC, this has a positive impact, including providing the right knowledge and understanding of oil spill management, increasing worker awareness, getting feedback and evaluation related to the suitability of procedures with implementation when the training is carried out. As a company providing terminal services, especially loading and unloading vehicles,

"IPCC is committed to always providing maximum service to every customer with the motto Operational Excellent, No Accident, Zero Defect so that it can provide comfort and safety for customers who have chosen us as a One Stop Solution for vehicle loading and unloading services," concluded Wing.
