SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL), a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, has once again achieved international success by winning two awards at the Global Ports Forum (GPF) Awards 2026 held at Pullman Singapore Orchard, Singapore, on October 14, 2026.
The two awards were Port/Terminal of the Year – South East Asia 2026 which was given to PT Terminal Teluk Lamong and Port/Terminal Visionary of the Year 2026 which was received by TTL President Director, David P. Sirait.
The award is a form of international recognition for TTL's transformation in improving operational performance, strengthening competitiveness, developing service innovation, and building increasingly modern, environmentally friendly, and customer-oriented container terminals.
Both awards were presented directly by the Executive Chairman of the Global Ports Forum, Thomas Ng, and received by David P. Sirait who was present with the management and representatives of TTL.
"This award is both a tremendous appreciation and motivation for us to continue improving our global competitiveness. This achievement is the result of the hard work of all TTL employees, the trust of our customers, and the support and collaboration of all stakeholders," said David.
Operational Transformation Becomes the Foundation for International Recognition
In the five years since the Pelindo merger, TTL has continued to strengthen its business and operational transformation through terminal integration, increased productivity, digitalization of service processes, and development of customer-oriented services.
TTL currently manages three container terminals under a single operational unit: TPK Teluk Lamong, TPK Nilam, and TPK Berlian. The integration of these three terminals is part of the company's strategy to increase service capacity, strengthen logistics connectivity, and optimize the utilization of port assets in the Surabaya area.
This transformation is reflected in TTL Group's performance. As of August 2026, container throughput reached 2,027,914 TEUs, a 12.38 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year. Meanwhile, international container throughput reached 389,682 TEUs, a 78.69 percent year-on-year increase.
This growth is supported by strengthening services, adding a number of new shipping services, and various operational innovations to increase efficiency and provide service certainty to service users.
These include the implementation of the Terminal Booking System (TBS), the development of the EAZI ship service system, the strengthening of integrated operational planning and control, and various initiatives to accelerate ship and container services.
These innovations are aimed at accelerating service times, reducing waiting times, increasing terminal productivity, and providing increasingly reliable and competitive services.
Strengthening Green Port and Smart Terminal
In addition to improving operational performance, TTL continues to strengthen its commitment to terminal development that prioritizes the use of technology and environmental sustainability.
As one of the pioneers of semi-automatic container terminals in Indonesia, TPK Teluk Lamong has implemented various modern technologies, including Automated Stacking Crane (ASC), Automated Gate System, and the use of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to support the accuracy and efficiency of operational processes.
From an environmental perspective, the company continues to develop green port initiatives through equipment electrification, the use of more environmentally friendly energy, the development of shore power facilities, and strengthening environmental management in terminal operational activities.
This commitment is also extended through equipment modernization at TTL-managed terminals, including the addition of an electric Rubber Tyred Gantry (E-RTG) at TPK Nilam.
Through this approach, TTL strives to ensure that increased productivity and business growth go hand in hand with energy efficiency, occupational safety, and environmental sustainability.
Growing Together with Customers, Stakeholders, and Communities
David emphasized that the company's success cannot be separated from strong relationships with customers, regulators, business partners, and all stakeholders.
For TTL, terminal excellence is not solely measured by the volume of containers or technological sophistication, but also by the ability to provide consistent service, create added value for customers, and build sustainable cooperative relationships.
"This award reflects teamwork, customer trust, and the strong support of all stakeholders. We believe that a terminal's success is built through collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to continuously providing better service," said David.
In line with this, TTL is also committed to providing social and economic benefits to the surrounding community through various Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs.
Community empowerment programs, skills development, local business development, and environmental awareness are part of the company's efforts to create inclusive and sustainable growth.
This commitment confirms that TTL's transformation is not only directed at improving business performance, but also at creating long-term value for the environment and society.
Awards Become Motivation to Continue Transforming
The Global Ports Forum Awards is an international awards event that recognizes companies, terminal operators, and port industry professionals for their contributions to service development, innovation, leadership, and sustainability in the maritime sector.
For TTL, the two awards received in 2026 further strengthen the company's commitment to continuing its transformation as part of the Pelindo Group.
Going forward, TTL will continue to focus on improving operational excellence, developing technology-based services, strengthening collaboration with customers, and implementing sustainability principles in every business process.
David emphasized that international awards are not an end in themselves, but rather a reminder to continue improving and providing greater added value to the national logistics industry.
“Excellence is not a destination, it is a journey.”
This spirit is the foundation for TTL to continue moving forward, providing container terminal services that are increasingly green, smart, efficient, and customer-oriented, while also contributing to increasing Indonesia's logistics competitiveness at the global level.
