PALEMBANG (ISL News) - Pelindo Group Regional 2 Palembang supports efforts to prevent and detect early diseases in the port environment by facilitating Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and Free Health Check activities organized by the Palembang Class I Health Quarantine Center (BKK).
The activity, which took place at the Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang Office, was not only attended by Pelindo Group Regional 2 Palembang employees, but also involved stakeholders who are active in the Boom Baru Palembang Port environment.
Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang provides support by providing facilities for carrying out activities while encouraging the involvement of employees and stakeholders in the port environment to utilize the available health check-up services.
The involvement of various parties in this activity is crucial for building shared health awareness in the port area. As a hub for port activities and a hub for various workers and stakeholders, efforts to maintain health require collaboration.
During the event, participants received free TB screening and health checks. These checks serve as a preventative measure to support early detection and raise awareness of the importance of maintaining good health during daily work activities.
General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, Darmawi, expressed his appreciation for the activities initiated by BKK Class I Palembang and the participation of stakeholders in the Boom Baru Port environment.
"We welcome this initiative by the Palembang Class I Port Authority (BKK). Furthermore, this initiative benefits not only Pelindo employees but also stakeholders operating within the Boom Baru Port area. Health is a shared responsibility, so it's important to continue promoting collaborations like this," Darmawi said.
According to Darmawi, the port environment is dynamic and involves many parties. Therefore, the implementation of an Occupational Safety and Health (K3) culture needs to be developed collaboratively, not only through operational safety aspects but also by increasing awareness of the health of every individual working in the port area.
Meanwhile, the TB screening and health checks also demonstrate synergy between Pelindo Group Regional 2 Palembang and the Class I Port Authority (BKK) in Palembang to support a healthy port environment. This cross-stakeholder collaboration is expected to raise awareness of the importance of regular health checks and early detection of potential diseases.
Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang is committed to continuously supporting the creation of a healthy, safe, and productive work environment and port area. With the collaboration of all parties, the health of port personnel can be maintained, allowing port activities and services to operate optimally.
