MAKASSAR (ISL News) – PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (PJM) continues to strengthen the competence and professionalism of pilots through the Level I and II Pilot Certificate Endorsement Training Program , Batch IV of 2026. The activity, which involved 35 participants from various work units in four PJM operational areas, took place on September 16–18, 2026 at PT Pendidikan Maritim dan Logistik Indonesia (PMLI), Ciawi, Bogor.
Organized in collaboration with PMLI, this activity is a continuation of a series of pilot endorsement programs that began in April 2026. The program is part of the ongoing development of human resources to support the safety and reliability of ship pilotage services.
The Corporate Secretary of PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim, Tubagus Patrick Tribudi Utama Iskandar, emphasized that refreshing and developing pilot competencies is an important part of maintaining the quality of the company's services.
"Pilots play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and smooth movement of ships. Through our ongoing endorsement program, we want to ensure that pilots remain competent and prepared to carry out their duties professionally, with safety as a top priority," said Tubagus Patrick.
Through certification refresher and certification confirmation, pilots are expected to maintain their competence and readiness to carry out their duties. Pilotage requires precision, an understanding of water characteristics, and the application of safety procedures for every vessel movement.
The 2026 PJM Scout Certificate endorsement program is planned to include 170 participants, consisting of 159 Level I Scouts and 11 Level II Scouts, divided into five batches. The gradual implementation will allow competency development to parallel the need for scouts in each operational area.
PJM also emphasizes coordinating participant assignments with local operational management to ensure smooth ship service while the pilots are participating in learning activities.
