JAKARTA TANJUNG PRIOK (ISL News) — The Tanjung Priok Class I Sea and Coast Guard Base (PLP) held a ceremony to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Monday (17/8/2026), as a momentum to remember the struggles of the heroes while strengthening the spirit of devotion in carrying out duties and responsibilities to the nation and state.
The ceremony was attended by structural officials, all levels of employees and personnel, the extended family of the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base, and retired/retired KPLP officers. The presence of the retired/retired KPLP officers is an important part of the extended KPLP family and also a form of respect for the dedication and devotion that has been given in maintaining the safety, security, and order of shipping and supporting the state's duties in the field of sea and coast guard.
Acting as the Inspector of the Ceremony, the Head of the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base, Fourmansyah, SH, MM, MH, delivered a message emphasizing that independence is not just a ceremonial commemoration, but rather a momentum to continue the struggle of the heroes through real work, devotion, integrity, and responsibility according to their respective duties and functions.
In his address, Fourmansyah stated that as transportation personnel, particularly in the field of maritime and coastal security, all personnel have a strategic responsibility to maintain shipping safety and security, protect the maritime environment, and support the smooth operation of national maritime transportation. The high level of shipping activity in the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base area requires all personnel to work professionally, disciplined, responsive, and service-oriented.
"Let us work with integrity, uphold discipline, improve competence, strengthen synergy, and provide the best service to the public and users of maritime transportation services," Fourmansyah emphasized in his address.
Furthermore, Fourmansyah encouraged all staff to view every task as a contribution to maintaining shipping safety and supporting national progress. He also emphasized the importance of continuous evaluation and improvement amid increasingly complex challenges, as well as strengthening coordination and collaboration with all stakeholders.
The spirit of independence, he continued, must be realized in the daily work culture, including by freeing oneself from laziness, abuse of authority, undisciplined behavior, and actions that could harm the organization and the country.
On the occasion of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, Fourmansyah also urged all ranks to strengthen unity. Diversity in background, duties, functions, and ideas must be a strength in achieving the common goal of providing the best possible service to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
"Let us continue the heroes' struggle with real work and dedication. A Resilient Indonesia, a Growing Indonesia, a Progressive Indonesia!" said Fourmansyah.
Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base is committed to continuously improving professionalism, integrity, synergy, and quality of service in supporting shipping safety and security and the advancement of national maritime transportation.
