MAKASSAR INDONESIA (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo strengthened the leadership capacity of its General Managers through the Business Fundamental Session Regional 4 which is part of the “General Manager Upskilling Program”, Monday (3/8/2026).
In the activity that took place in the Akhlak Meeting Room, 7th Floor of Pelindo Regional 4 Office, Pelindo Deputy President Director, Drajat Sulistyo, emphasized the importance of mastering business fundamentals as a provision to face the dynamics of the port industry and support the sustainability of the company's transformation.
In his presentation, the Deputy President Director of Pelindo emphasized that the General Manager has a strategic role as the company's spearhead in translating corporate policy directions into superior operational performance in each work area.
"A strong understanding of business fundamentals is the key asset for every General Manager, enabling them to make informed, adaptive decisions that are oriented toward creating value for the company. Effective leadership must be able to integrate operational, commercial, service, and governance aspects to make Pelindo increasingly competitive and sustainable," said Drajat.
According to him, leadership capacity building must continue to be implemented in line with the increasingly dynamic business environment. Therefore, competency development programs such as the General Manager Upskilling Program are a crucial part of preparing leaders capable of facing challenges and seizing business growth opportunities.
Meanwhile, Executive Director 4 of Pelindo Regional 4, Abdul Azis, said that the holding of the Business Fundamental Session Regional 4 was a manifestation of the company's commitment to building a culture of continuous learning within the Pelindo Regional 4 environment.
"Through this session, we want to ensure that all General Managers and leadership have the same perspective on the company's business strategy, so that every policy and operational step in Region 4 can be aligned with Pelindo's transformation direction," said Abdul Azis.
He added that improving the leadership's competency not only impacts the effectiveness of port operational management but also strengthens the quality of service to service users and supports the achievement of the company's performance targets on an ongoing basis.
The activity was attended by all General Managers and structural officials within Pelindo Regional 4. In addition to being a forum for improving competency, the Business Fundamental Session Regional 4 also served as a strategic discussion forum to strengthen collaboration, align perceptions, and encourage the birth of innovation in supporting the transformation and business growth of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero).
